I had to guess on Yes but I'd heard them enough to know their 'vibe' & also on Explosion (which wasn't hard since the guitar sounded like it was exploding) & maybe two of the others but apparently I guessed right. Terra, yes I still plan on returning to Tucson - and FINALLY some arid air, mountainous vistas stretching to the horizon, the serenity and tranquility that I cannot find words for that I resonate with in that enchanted (for me) corner of this continent, and a chance to get up to speed again with my Spanish - and contrary to popular belief - there are very few Spanish speaking people here in this part of the armpit - did I say that?? - known as North Florida or "Dixie" - *uggggggh* - "snug in their Bible belt dreams". "Plantations and sweeping ballroom gowns" have never "take(n) my breath away"... YES I have been listening to Shades of Scarlet Conquering a lot recently, in fact all of THOSL, rediscovering and examining those lyrics I found so mesmerizing back in the 9th grade, over 3 decades ago. I refer to my apartment as my "Two Grey Rooms" as the landlord here only uses grey carpeting as a cost cutting measure in order to maximize profits - BAU in "Good-Ole-God-Save-America" - a carpet color in previous decades that was a "must have" and is now relegated to unfashionable colors such as avocado that were the envy of every appliance owner in the 70's. I've had my A/C at 78 degrees and BR fan running continually as well. We've had an active rainy season this summer with each day followed by relentless humidity and heat. I've always liked to garden but after only 10 minutes outdoors I'm zapped and in need of a shower. At least up in Wisconsin I imagine you get the reprieve of a dry continental air mass moving down from Canada - not such a good thing around the time of the winter solstice I guess...global warming posits a warming especially in the northern latitudes such as yours but since "we've set our lovely sky on fire", you can bet that precisely ZERO scientists with their "tunnel vision" - and I am an Earth science major BTW - will be able to forecast with any precision the blowback from "our man-made world backfiring" and the law of unintended consequences will hold many a surprise as usual. So yes I intend to return to the Old Pueblo, it's simply working out to be a much longer process than I had envisioned. It was a moving experience, even in the crushing 105deg heat. There is no word yet on a dvd release. In the meantime, an audio CD has been released, which may turn out to be more satisfying than the film. A typical review says: There's not enough music to make it a concert film, and not enough action to pick up the slack. But there is nevertheless something admirable, even touching, about their breed of 60's style activism..... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1157620/ My impression is that the film focuses on the "controversial" nature of their political stance on this tour, a subject that sounds somewhat boring. I would rather have a straight concert vid. We get the conservative view every day on the telly anyway. So they walked out in the red states because Young had the audacity to call for impeachment of the criminal in chief. The music itself would make a better statement imo than interviewing disgruntled (or enthusiastic) fans. How's that for a review of a film I haven't seen? Who knows, maybe I will love it. Most likely I will wait 'til they show it on Sundance a year from now. Neil is a brillliant guy. As a film-maker....well, don't quit yer day job (ie Greendale). RR ps here is a bunch of links to newspaper critics' reviews of the film, plus a very slow-loading 2m trailer. The average review comes out to 6 on a scale of 10. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/csny_deja_vu/# From: "Monika Bogdanowicz" > Thanks for the article.
