My homepage, Common Dreams, contained one response to a post about the global food shortages entitled "Food Crisis Set to Get Worse - Experts" which stated the following: lizard April 21st, 2008 3:36 pm "Systems move toward equilibrium. There is cvompetition (sic) for grains. One of the biggest consumers is domestic animals. You will eat less meat wheteher (sic) you like it or not. The price will rise, the number of animals produced will decline and grain will be more available. Poverty will bring less meat consumption. You will switch to rice and beans because you have no choice. In the process you will lose wight (sic) and live longer. Congratulations on your new life, the one others have been living for a long time, which is why they are not fat." Pretty much the way I see the direction of ever increasing commodity prices and the hoax of "going green" with biofuels which divert them from the food market, which will inevitably lead to a decrease in meat consumption anyways. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Apr 2008 19:52:43 -0700 (PDT) From: ann jensen Subject: Re: njc happy earth day, don't eat meat i'll second that! pass it along! ann - --- Monika Bogdanowicz wrote: > Well I'm supporting the Earth everyday then by > never eating meat as it is! I couldn't help but chuckle at his statement: "Mitchell, the original singer-songwriter, presents herself in stark contrast to the dodo-brained warblers of this generation. She's cynical and doesn't mind expressing it." Dodo-brained warblers. lol. I can just see Joni using the same language!! When the culture of the slums is something a society's own youth aspire to, that's a certain symptom that it has serious systemic problems. ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2008 #41 **************************** ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here: mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:joni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe -------
