It was funny: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ignorant+slut+snl&btnG=Google+Search At the same time, we do need to compare and contrast the candidates. Most of us liked the debate when Hillary said she was privileged to be running with Barack, and they hugged, and people started thinking "Dream Team." But then shortly after that, she seemed to turn negative and angrily scolded: "Shame on YOU, Barack Obama!" (now who likes to be talked to like that?) and then came the sarcasm with the celestial choirs and stuff. That did not sit well with me. I thought I was watching Sybill. I know a lot of my female friends were cringing, too. Of course, negativity (like beauty) can be in the eyes of the beholder, especially when people are so passionate about his/her candidate, and when so much is at stake. And I don't understand all this "do-over" stuff in Michigan and Florida, changing the rules in mid-stream. "Do-overs?" Didn't we try to do that playing baseball or kick-socker in the playground when we were kids? And everyone would say: "No do-overs!" And now she wants him to give her "frontsies", and she will "let" him be Vice President. I don't know. She is reminding me of my nemesis Joe Lieberman, who would do anything to get elected and ignored the will of his party. That's just "the way I see it....everyone's in it for their own gain..." But for me, Obama really seems to want to unite the country and do some good. But of course, that is just my perception. "I know no one's going to show me everything." I hope I am not offending my friends here, Deb & Monika & Laura. This is not easy, esp. when Gloria Steinem is for Hillary, too. I feel a little guilt. And I do worry that all this sniping will hurt us in the end. I'm getting weary of it. I wish it were January 9, 2009, with someone (send me somebody, who's strong and somewhat sincere) raising their right hand at the podium, swearing to defend the constitution and take our country back.
