Many people, me included, have seen Hillary vote, not once, but twice in support of Bush's war. She & many other of her party lost me a long time ago, before I'd ever heard of Obama. Yes she is intelligent with some great leadership skills & if she is our next president it will still be light years better than what we have now. Obama speaks with a voice & a vision that I have had within me for a very long time. I don't see him promoting contempt. If some have contempt, or in my case, a lack of respect, for Hillary it is something that was there already, not something Obama created in people. He is not some cult leader with mindless followers who are being emotionally manipulated. He is an intelligent, passionate man who many intelligent, thoughtful people see as a very positive alternative. I think he represents a new generation of leadership & that the number of young voters who are turning out for this election are part of that new direction. It is very refreshing to me. I understand you are supportive, even passionate about Hillary which is the way others feel about Obama. We have two very intelligent people to choose from for the democratic nomination & I hope you can respect that a vote for Obama comes from the same thoughtful decision for many as a vote for Hillary does for others. BTW, my hubby voted for Hillary, I voted for Obama. He likes her health plan better. See my previous comment on health care to understand why that might be his priority. We agree on some things about the candidates & disagree on other things. We both used to like John McCain a whole lot more many years ago when he had more of an independent mind & was less of a suck up. Keep in mind, if you vote for McCain you are probably voting for a never ending war. One which could have a devastating affect on your kids & their friends. Peace, Kate Dr. Laura wrote >Obama promotes contempt for Hillary in subtle ways by playing on anti-establishment sentiments and insinuating that Hillary is part of that establishment, almost as if she is a Republican. He sets up an "us and them" mentality which he has used to successfully build up a cult of believers around him. But, that kind of campaigning promotes ignorance in my opinion. It plays on people's emotions as they make up their minds who to vote for and leads them away from investigating the other candidate and the issues.< ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Feb 2008 11:35:46 +0100 From: "Marian Russell" Subject: Re: Joni songs on the Ukulele Hi Brian - If I were you, I would try tuning the four strings to the top four strings of the guitar and use the guitar transcriptions in: http://www.jmdl.com/guitar and let us know if it works or not. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the (piano) sheet music for Neil Young's JTTP? Ever since hearing that song on the Live At Massey Hall CD, I've been in *LOVE* and want to try to learn it on piano. Thanks, Kenny B ************** Ideas to please picky eaters. I thought so as well. Stephen Stills does have his own unique sound and perfectly compliments Joni on this song. I've always thought that pure soloing and such does not make a great guitarist. I've always thought a "great" guitarist is someone who has their own sound and can step back and as you put it, add "shadings" to the music at hand when required. Since we're talking about Stills on Joni's work, I love his bassline on "Night In The City" from STAS. No wonder Joni said Stephen came up with a "beautiful" bassline she could not pass up. -Monika PassScribe@aol.com wrote: > rom: David Eoll > Subject: Re: meanderings, was: salutations > > Most notable, to me, is his accompaniment on guitar on Carey. Speaking of Sills I need to clarify something i said a month or so back and forget to write...His gorgeous phase lasted only about 5 years mid 60's thru about 73 lol..But forever and always his talent will be his best feature.. What I wouldn't give to turn back time and convince Crosby Stills Nash Young and Joni to get together and write an opus! Imagine that record.. I can't even.. I've always thought that each would contribute a song and collaborate on the rest...Hey if Stevie and Lindsey can write Silver Spring and go your own way during/after a breakup.. I am sure Joan and Graham could kick some major ass together.. - --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo!
