The Rock Hall is in Cleveland. The phrase rock-n-roll was first used in Cleveland. The inductions are in New York. Right, that makes sense alright. If they are worried about weather, well NYC isn't exactly paradise either at the time of the inductions. If they are worried about parking, there is plenty of parking available around the Rock Hall. Not to mention that in that area, Cleveland has races, air shows, gay parades, etc etc in which they even designate certain parking lots for. If they just have problems with Cleveland itself (a Beatlefest used to be held here but had to be moved to KY because of problems with the city) well that just says something about Cleveland....that it stinks. -Monika Cassy wrote: From wtam.com 2009 Rock Hall Inductions In Cleveland?! News conference called Wednesday for a "major" announcement. By Darren Toms, Newsradio WTAM 1100 Wednesday, December 19, 2007 (Cleveland) - Is it really going to happen?! Is Cleveland actually going to host another Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony? Sure sounds like it. The Rock Hall and Cleveland City Hall have called a 1:15 news conference to discuss the, quote, "2009 Rock Hall induction ceremony and major rock hall initiatives designed to support the capital campaign." Among those attending the news conference will be Mayor Frank Jackson, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President and CEO Joel Peresman and Rock Hall CEO Terry Stewart. The Rock Hall did hold one induction ceremony in Cleveland, but that was back in 1997. Inducted that year were Buffalo Springfield, Crosby Stills and Nash , Joni Mitchell, Parliament-Funkadelic, The (Young) Rascals, The Bee Gees and The Jackson Five The argument for holding the ceremony in New York has always been that The Big Apple was better equipped with hotels and amenities for the guests. The mayor's office will not comment further until the news conference. (Copyright ) 2007 Clear Channel.
