He was working all day, and then at the Ford plant all night. To make a few extra bucks my parents would sell Christmas trees. We lived on a busy street. So they would string a single string of colored lights from the street all the way down the driveway to the back of the house. It was such hard work for my mom, who would put her coat and boots on, and trek up and down the stairs to sell a five dollar tree that she and my father had cut down themselves in the country. But to me, I remember getting so excited when they brought out that one string of colored lights. It meant visitors, activity, and most of all, Christmas was coming. I also didn't realize how many names were in my blocked senders list, but maybe yahoo puts names in blocked senders if you identify something as spam. And yet, I don't think I've ever identified something sent by me as spam. I don't think I actually did anything to make my own name go to blocked senders. Scripted by Carly herself: 'I believe Torch came out in the summer of '81. It was the summer of the break-up of my marriage to James Taylor. (snip) Even though I had had records that didn't perform in the past, Spoiled Girl REALLY didn't perform....there were a few good tracks. Maybe two. One of them was called: My New Boyfriend and it got me back together with Paul Samwell-Smith for that one track. Russ Kunkel played on some of the record. Russ and I became romantically involved.' Release year of 'Spoiled Girl' shows as 1985. So apparently it was not Carly's relationship with Russ Kunkel that broke up her marriage with James Taylor. To me it seems unlikely that an affair with an ex-wife 4 years after a divorce would break up a musical partnership. But then what do I know? I've watched him for years here in Arkansas on TV when he was governor, and I've met him. The videos really surprised me... like what happened to Huckabee? Where's Huckabee? He is putting on a big show, imitating Bill Clinton. I wish you could have seen him before the campaign. He isn't being himself. He also looks like he's on speed. Sometimes he was doing a George Bush imitation too. Love, Laura ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss a thing. Sure blows the idea of the more money one has the better ones chances of winning. gene - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Laura Stanley" To: Sent: Friday, December 07, 2007 9:03 PM Subject: Mike Huckabee, njc > Hi Ya'll, > > I just watched youtube videos of Mike Huckabee. > I've watched him for years here in Arkansas on TV when > he was governor, and I've met him. > > The videos really surprised me... like what > happened to Huckabee? There's nothing wrong with folk per se but Joni often gets lumped into the folk category and often only that folk category. In a way it is very limiting to her as an artist and very, very misleading as Joni has a wide variety of music that can't really be said it's this or it's that. Don't box her in! She doesn't want that! She has said that she was only a folk singer up to 1965 and really that's pretty accurate. Now her very early albums, I will say, have some "folky" qualities to them but they are far from folk. If you ever listen to some "pure folk" as I call it, Joni's nothing like it. If you want to hear Joni playing folk music, check out a '65 performance of hers on...a Canadian show (I forget the name) which is on YouTube. Now those are some nice, folk covers. But even from the beginning, Joni's music was much too advance to really be considered folk. Folk is kind of simple in a way and Joni's music has always been more technical I suppose. -Monika Rian Afriadi wrote: Joni hates to be called a folk singer.
