At 52, I've finally taken on a singing teacher to do just that and I dearly want to get some of the Joni I've been yodeling for years, into tune. Backing tracks are the suggested way forward and I have to get some together. I spent most of the day looking at backing track sites, and though I had a fabulous time getting lost in all the possibilities, Joni-wise, I could only come up with Chelsea Morning, Carey and Big Yellow Taxi. But really I'd like, You Dream Flat Tires, Amelia, A Case of You and Last Time I saw Richard as per Both Sides Now and Travelogue. Oh, and Hejira, and The Dry Cleaner from Des Moines, and, and, and, well everything I guess. Can anybody suggest/offer a way through? - -- Friends against HIV in Northern Thailand www.rejoicethailand.org ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Nov 2007 17:32:12 -0800 From: "Mark Scott" Subject: Re: Woodstock I believe Joni says she wrote at least some of the words for Woodstock while watching television coverage of the festival in her hotel room during that New York trip to tape the Dick Cavett show. That may have been where you got the impression from WOHAM that she performed it on Dick Cavett. Interesting concept but if I was Joni I wouldn't want to be held up to such high standards. Part of being an artist is always striving to become better, to hone your craft and delve deeper into the muse, dance with the demon, art. If you embody Jesus, there's not a whole lot more you can hope to achieve. Plus, I have just a little trouble with the image of a smoking Jesus. Although I could see him possibly getting stoned. Victor<< Good one Victor! But Jesus expects us all to live up to Gods high standard (like Bono & Hana) to do "greater works" urged the Wayshower. Joni is moving mountains all by herself!!!
