There are lots of great plug ins. Download Helper rips .flv videos from YouTube. I prefer using Safari as my web browser but there aren't any plug ins for it like there is for Firefox. The song Secret Place got stuck in my head last January and I've been hearing it almost every day ever since. I realized last summer that it must be a message from the Great Spirit. Today the Joni Mitchell Discussion List shared a link to yet another great video of Night Ride Home where I found this priceless treasure. I love how it begins in a cold black box and ends outside a warm sepia wigwam. Especially interesting is the toilet paper highway that turns into the WTC twin towers....... Also love how hard it is to tell Joni's and Peter Gabriel's voices apart. I always tell June that I just want to live in a Teepee. We white eyes are entirely too absorbed in the maintenance of all our 'precious' stuff. Satisfaction with simplicity is obviously our hardest lesson. I only hope we can survive the exponential garbage heap we are making of this once beautiful planet! (crying) Marian admitted: >>I said Joni doesn't make me cry, but I cried listening to Bad Dreams on the way to work this morning. I think, after that song, she had put something a little more up and BYT is perfect (I just love the arrangement).<< Most of my favorite music brings me to tears. Joni's more profound music often makes me cry, out of both joy for the beauty and sadness for the ugliness. But SHINE has, unlike anything I've ever experienced, rendered me a big blob of mush! It feels SO good to well-up to the beauty as well as the pain, and SHINE blends the two into one incredibly wonderful dance! This feeling is far better than any drug there is and is part of the reason I am so addicted to Joni after all these years. We 'strange birds of appetite' need to loose our balls and admit we have very good reasons to shed serious tears. That is where healing begins. After 15 or so years hearing about John's Joni act, I finally caught it tonight. It was waaaay beyond my expectations; he is just phenominal. I was treated to this show by a woman I work with who knows I love Joni and heard about the performance before I -- a longtime JMDLer -- did. As we were waiting for the show to begin, Jody and her lovely husband, That Guy, were seated right next to me! What are the chances of that? And then I spotted Maggie and Ashara a few rows away! Later, during the performance, my cell phone started vibrating and when I looked to see who was calling, it was Anne Sandstrom! I couldn't resist -- I had to pick up and tell Anne where I was as "The Circle Game" was playing. All in all, it was a perfect night. If you ever EVER get a chance to see John Kelly, don't miss it. I am in Oberlin Ohio with the band. Glad you are feeling better. Thanks for the report on John. Did he do something from Shine? He emailed me a few weeks ago asking for some Tabs and of course I immediately contacted the Tab Queen who has been tabbing her butt off. He wanted to do Shine as part of the program. I will be up in your neck of the woods in December. Come hang out with the band and we see if we can find a corner and some pins. Be well brother. The cookbook idea was conceived by Julie Z. Webb (the hostess of the very first Jonifest in 1998 in Pittsburgh) and Bev. People who were members of JMDL at that time submitted recipes with titles that were plays on words from Joni's songs - e.g., Amelia's Alarming Tuscan Bean Soup. Each contributor also submitted a bio. Someone designed a beautiful cover page. My memory is failing me and failed me then, too, it appears, so it would be great if anyone who had anything at all to do with the conception and realization of this project could take a bow. All of it was sent to Joni as a birthday present one year, and we heard, I think through Kakki, that she was thrilled and enjoyed it very much.
