Thanks for replying Victor. I found this show see below. Which claims songs from this Birthday show that you saw. It sounds like I have heard these this recording before so I don' know the accuracy of the info supplied below. Seeing how Sex Kills and Face Lift did not come out till way after 1988 I doubt the validity. Still researching this. Best Paz Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell Live at the Alexander Memorial Coliseum, Atlanta, GA 1998-11-07 + Joni Mitchell at Amnesty International Concert 1986-06-15 You know, I really do think the Atlanta show is from the master. It was bought from ebay on a 2cdr set at a time when it was OK to do so, directly from the guy who did it. Makes you wish for that time all over again, doesn't it? For some odd reason, Joni opened up for Bob this particular night. If memory serves me correctly, this should be Dylan's tour with Tom Petty. Maybe it was a one-off, I don't know. They DON'T appear to be playing together at the same time, but hey, if you know better, please let me know. Track listings are directly from the CD's. If you have corrections, please supply them. This was in front of a hostile audience, who should have known better than to behave in the manner which they did. The set for this night was completely different: 01 - The Three Great Stimulants 02 - "I'm Not That Bad, You Dig?"/ Number One 03 - Hejira 04 - Interview The Atlanta show is one of the later concerts in Joni Mitchell's career. She was soon to retire from performing. I am truly sorry I never had the chance to see her, other than in films and other people's recordings. A friend of a friend who worked at Tower Records had gotten us 3 good seats right up, front and center, maybe about the 14th row. Before the concert, I picked up a dozen roses, a card, and a stuffed tiger from TY. We arrived a little late and missed the opening number...I was wearing a suit, tie, and carrying the flowers, etc... I must have looked pretty distinguished because someone asked my friend Connie who I was as if I was somebody important. I was thrilled beyond belief to finally see Joni live and Bob Dylan was a good chaser as he was really rocking and I need to come back down from being on cloud 10. Unfortunately, I was not clairvoyant and was not able to meet up with the jmdl (whom I had never heard of) as Paul IV so politely suggested I should have. May 19, 2000 Chastain Park with the ASO Atlanta, Georgia This time I actually did meet up with a group from the JMDL including Bob Muller, Alice from Asheville, etc...and my friend Holley(who attended Pazfest with me). Enjoyed the show and ran into Larry Klein afterwards at the hotel. I just walked in from the farmers' market (hey farmer farmer) with an armful of bright flowers (gonna put some flowers 'round my room) and all kinds of great locally grown organic produce, and turned on my computer to see the latest digest. We have the lyrics! My Sweet Lord! Thank you, Les, over and over and over again, my friend! I've only read the lyrics once, and by the end, I was in tears. Oh, Joni. (Here come those tears again.) I'm practically speechless. LOL...but not quite! And may God and all practicing Catholics forgive me, but I just have to send up some prayers: Bless me, Father Paz and Father Muller, for I have seen Joni six times but I'm too excited to write about it now. "Hail Joni, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art though, amongst women." "'Deliver us Lord from every evil and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior, Joni Mitchell.'" RR, I respect your need to wait for the music, but I could not resist temptation and I'm eating up the lyrics. Give us this day our daily bread.....And lead us not into temptation....I bit the apple...wash my guilt of Eden, wash and balance me. And now I need some DRUGS! I'm going to cc Marianne here because she's on digest and she's going to love these lyrics, too. She's had a lot of campers in her kitchen lately and is behind on her digest reading. Deep breath. I have to make some phone calls. I'll use my regular phone cuz Joni don't like cellphones. TTYL, querido Joniamigos! Yep, "the chirp" works in mysterious ways. A few weeks ago, the local news "covered" a sighting: the figure of Mary was "discovered" on the side of a garage. I'm not making this up. They collected video of a half dozen people sitting in lawn chairs, gawking at the side of a garage. When they turned the camera on the wall, there was an oval of light shaped like two parenthesis (). I s'pose sun light was reflected from some double-pane glass. Anyway, there are idiots everywhere. The most disappointing thing to me was the way the self-described "news staff" covered the story. They didn't ask anyone how they made the collosal leap from "oval" to "sign from a woman, dead 2000 years". They didn't trace the reflected light to its source. They didn't explain it was a reflection. They didn't interview a physics teacher. Nothing. They showed one particularly stupid neighbor step forward and make a FLASH photograph of the wall, washing out the image I'm sure. Back at the studio, one "talking head" said, "Huh, a modern-day miracle right here in Dayton." The other "talking head" said, "You bet. Now for the winning lottery numbers..." It was so stupid I couldn't laugh. They didn't have the courage to debunk sunlight on a garage!? This is a group which helps to oversee our governements?! Jim L.
