I think maybe it's time for us all on the list to send our warm thoughts and gratulations to Bendicte, who finished her doctorial dissertaion yesterday. I have no idea how much work and energy you have put into it, but I have a feeling it's *quite a bit* but I sure hope you had a goood day yesterday. That they were threating you kind (enough, I know they tend to be raw) (Joni:"You think your too raw, it's the judgement of the moon and strars, your solitary path....") Well, this wont be long or very poetic, but I sure hope you survived everything. And good luck with moving back to Copenhagen too... Best wishes ! If you are sad like me then visit www.musicroom.com and go the section where you can download sheet music. Type in Joni and have fun with the free previews. My favourites ( for laughs) so far are Coyote and Otis and Marlena. You can change the tempo and allegedly change the instrument playing the preview. Maybe you have to purchase to get all the effects. I tried tuba but it didnt play. Have fun.If this has been posted before, then sorry. It gives me a natural high every time." Yes! I get the same feeling when I run into people at vigils and rallys whom I have met at OTHER rallys and vigils and COW (CT Opposes War) meetings. There's a spark of humanity and solidarity that goes off in those smiles and waves of recognition. It's the opposite of "...it gets so lonely, when you're walking, and the streets are full of strangers...". We are all friends, working together, serving together. Hmmm...maybe that is how movements begin. They are one person They are two alone They are three together They are for each other " Volunteer work is very fulfilling especially if it speaks to you and not because they were thrust upon you. " Yes, when you have a gift, don't you always want to share it? What if Joni never shared hers? Perish the thought! None of us would know each other. And we all shine on.... Interesting how successful service was measured in grocery store profits. I also thought how coincidental the man's name was "Johnny." Reminds me of a song. Sing with me now and change the name to Joanie and boy to girl if you like. Love, To dance When Johnny comes marching home again, Hurrah! Hurrah! We'll give him a hearty welcome then Hurrah! Hurrah! The men will cheer and the boys will shout The ladies they will all turn out And we'll all feel gay, When Johnny comes marching home. The old church bell will peal with joy Hurrah! Hurrah! Well last night I went out with some friends and as it always is, I drove (I prefer it that way! I'm a good driver but I'm a fast, fast, fast driver). And of course, I had some Joni playing in my car. I put on THOSL quietly in the background as we all chatted. When the "Centerpiece" part of "Harry's House" came on, one of my friends was impressed by the song and said, "this is a really good song. Can I see the album?" So he took a look at it and checked out the insert and then asked, "is this music all stringed instruments?" Now normally a question like that would be odd but coming from him, not at all. He listens to a lot of music from different cultures---Indian music, Middle Eastern, etc etc. So I just explained what the album had musically speaking. My other friend in the car, during that part in Harry's House, hummed along for a second or two. Ah, the magic of that song! I love Harry's House--Centerpiece. I know we had a discussion not too long ago in which a couple folks expressed their disdain for it but to me, it's one of Joni's best. - -Monika, spreading the joy ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 2 Jun 2007 10:34:14 -0700 (PDT) From: Em Subject: Re: NJC congratulations ! way to go, Bene! well done! wishing you all the best in your future endeavours. :) Em - --- Oddmund Kaarevik wrote: > I think maybe it's time for us all on the list to send our warm > thoughts and > gratulations to Bendicte, who finished her doctorial dissertaion > yesterday. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 02 Jun 2007 16:49:23 -0400 From: "anon anon" Subject: RE: Harry's House strikes a chord.... >From: Motitan@aol.com >Reply-To: Motitan@aol.com >To: joni@smoe.org >Subject: Harry's House strikes a chord.... >Date: Sat, 2 Jun 2007 11:59:20 EDT > >Well last night I went out with some friends and as it always is, I drove >(I >prefer it that way!
