There is a performance space where I volunteer, but it costs beans baby. Dunno. Since Winnipeg is the centre of the country ;-PP . I know that Kate next door would agree. Well, we could think Saskatoon, too. I know, Ive mentioned this before, but maybe it's just too darned early to start thinking next year? Just dont make it in the winter...no one will want to be here, well except for Uncle John, he's rather fond of the chilled aire. and speaking of chilled aire....our temps have been somewhat 'below normal' and today, it's stark raving bright out there, gorgeous sunshine ... alas, it's only -5C, which is warm considering how it has been of late. And throw in a -12 C with the windchill for good measure. No snow though. We don't need any more with the rivers rising higher each day. Next week Mikey. yay. June's new album, Apples, is one of her best. Typically, it's a little on the sad side but she is in great form and there's plenty of interesting material and some great accordion playing from Andy Cutting. I love the opening track "Dancing" which was apparently written following visits to various Scottish care homes to record the memories of residents. June must be a similar age to Joni and has a similar, strong personality in many ways. It's interesting that you don't hear her griping about the music biz. I suppose English folk singers simply don't expect to be appreciated by more than a small group of fans, but their talent and longevity is amazing in many cases.
