Didn't she block out a long period of time when she appeared on her old show? Anyways, you got me thinking I should ask Rosie if she has plans to interview Joni in regards to her up and coming album. Her website has a Q & A area. We'll see if she answers. She definitly has Joni on the brain because I saw that she responded to someone else named Joni: joni writes: ok i give up. im a loser. i write you almost everyday and you never answer. ok ok so this is a bad attempt at a pity email LOVE YA ANYWAY ROSIE O'DONNEL ANSWERS: i am listening to joni mitchell right now so 4 u joni a nod Laura > Rosie O'Donnel: That wonderful Joni MItchell song. The Meters set was incredible. After they finished on their stage we rushed them over to the other stage and they all sat in with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was over the top good. Both Julian and Mikey and a couple of their friends were with us and we were able to all be together in a special viewing platform above the stage. Julian and my favorite was the Bingo Show. Clint is such a great songwriter and singer and the show was amazing as always. Other highlights were Drive By Truckers (WHY HAVEN'T ANY OF YOU TOLD ME ABOUT THEM??? I LOVE THEM!! So much that I went to see them at Tips for a late night set when I should have gone home and crashed. Also Dan Dyer with Sam and Ruby. OMG!! They were incredible! They all sang the National Anthem at the Saints Game which I heard on the radio while I was helping move bands from the street to the stage (it was the mud folks, we had to truck them in). I did not know it was them until I heard their set and they sang it right there for all of us and talked about the experience of doing it. Thanks to my friend Linda who told me about them! Mikey loved Juvenile (help!) and I got him on stage along with 100 of Juve's closet pals and he and his girlfriend were thrilled especially when he came and stood right beside us and signed autographs for awhile. Mikey was too cool to ask for one. I got to drive a few of the guys from Ozomatli in a golf cart to see Duran Duran for a few tunes. They sounded pretty good for old farts. Simon LeBon celebrated his birthday at Stephen Rehage's (Voodoo Founder) house and my friends Linda and Thais were invited (that9s how I found out about Dan, Sam and Ruby). So many fun moments including having a few friends in from Chicago and getting to hang out with them as well. I topped the weekend off at the after party with a few cocktails where I got to talk to Dan and Ruby for awhile. Also got to play a few tunes on my friends guitar. At last a have a couple of weeks without all the hoopla so maybe I can catch up with you guys and see what I have been missing. Every one up on the peace train! It really IS sounding louder! (If someone already posted this, forgive me. I haven't read the latest digest.) And tomorrow Ned starts his bus tour for change, on my campus. (You're either on the bus or off the bus.) Another rally. I'll take a rally over the phone banks any day. Love, and pleasant dreams of peace, Patti Poobah (LOL Smurf! That was nice. Thanks. I needed that. Sweet inspiration. "Carry me....") Okay, voila: "The former Cat Stevens, Yusuf Islam, to perform at Nobel Peace Prize Concert Oslo, Oct. 31(AP): The former Cat Stevens, now known as Yusuf Islam, will be among the performers at this year's Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, promotors said. The concert honors each year's Nobel Peace laureates, which for 2006 are Muhammad Yunus of Bangladesh and the Grameen Bank he founded to help people rise above poverty with small loans to start businesses. This year's concert will be hosted by actresses Sharon Stone and Anjelica Huston. The former Cat Stevens, who changed his name when he converted to Islam in the late 1970s, will join such performers as R&B star Lionel Richie; 18-year-old music star Rihanna; the British pop band Simply Red; American country singer Wynonna; American opera singer Renee Fleming; and Mexican singer and actress Paulina Rubio. The London-born Islam had a string of hit songs in the 1960s and '70s, including ``Moon Shadow'' and ``Peace Train'' before converting to Islam and withdrawing from the music industry. Later this year, he is due to release his first new album in 28 years. (Interjection from moi: YAY!!!) ``There were 100 reasons for leaving the music industry back in 1979, not least because I had found what I was looking for spiritually,'' said Islam, now a peace activist, in a statement issued late Monday. `` Today there are perhaps one 101 good reasons why I feel right making music and singing about life in this fragile world again.'' In 2004, Islam was barred from entering the United States, after U.S. security officials said his name was on list of banned people. However, he has also received awards and honors for his peace and humanitarian aid efforts, including the 2003 Man of Peace award decided by a committee of Nobel Peace Prize laureates. The concerts are always held on Dec. 11, the day after the year's Nobel peace prize awards ceremony in Oslo. from: http://www.hinduonnet.com/holnus/009200610311650.htm _________________________________________________________________ Get FREE company branded e-mail accounts and business Web site from Microsoft Office Live http://clk.atdmt.com/MRT/go/mcrssaub0050001411mrt/direct/01/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Nov 2006 20:16:10 -0800 (PST) From: Michael Flaherty Subject: Re: Art in America Jerry Notaro wrote: I have access to it electronically, and one of our libraries subscribes to it.
