Henry, however, wasn't surprised at all. Anyway, in my "Ethiopian Wall - now Why Didn't You Answer The Phone NJC" post i made it very clear to you that you did not answer the phone, so you really shouldn't blame anyone but yourself for missing Henry's birthday party. Henry himself told you in his "Misery and Hope in For The Roses - now Please Stop Bothering My Wife NJC" post that we know exactly what happened in Turkey that summer. You were also asked in Kim's "Rainy Night House - now What The Hell Do You Want From This Happy Couple NJC" post to leave Henry and me in peace. You didn't though and by now it seems to us that you never will. This is our last warning, Rebecca. Take care, Your sister, Betty p.s. When you (ron) said in another email that you believe we are designed to be in love, beause that is when we funtion optimally, I was thinking, yes, but love is also a kind of madness, so perhaps a bit too optimally. So this one's from me and Nick...! I was the opposite, perhaps because I heard it the first time on my laptop and the sound wasn't good: the insisting voice thats almost trying to speak and not sing, and the words which made me go: hold on what did he just say.... Maybe I like this better than the other stuff because you can hear that he is talking to someone and not just himself, it's less introvert and more insisting to be heard and understood. taken together with the > quote above, i think i must listen to more of his music & see what hes > all about. i do enjoy the quote & the thoughts. i fully agree that the > love song is the noise of love itself. then he says that they exist to > decrease the distance between temporal & divine, which i pretty much > agree with, but it seems to me in the opposite direction to what he is > saying. i get the impression that he is saying that god is distant, or > perhaps, external to us & we have to reach out to him (i just use "him" > out of habit - i fully believe that god is neither male nor female). i > believe that the love song to god is not to reach out to him, but to > prepare a path through our being that will release the presence of god > from within us - a way of getting our body, soul & spirit aligned so that > the presence of god can flow through . > Hmm I think I get it. It's true he does sound like he thinks there is a distance. But then talking about the temporal and the divine is talking about opposites, otherwise there'd be no need for religious meditation! So I can see why he would say there is a gap between the two (and others would say, no, its all brahman...!) > which leaves me amazed at the depth of music, how it can cut through all > the bullshit & get to the heart of things. > Well it is weird. You listen to Joni at the age of 14 and think, yeah she's right, although you have no clue who she is and don't undestand half the words. You hear half a Nick Cave song on your laptop and don't get all the words, but think, this man has something to tell me...! Ok enough holy stuff, suffice that it is a Sunday!
