Can you believe a supposedly grown man (not to mention the freakin pres of the usa!) said this??? ROTFL! It was pretty tame, actually. When I saw the first line was "Carey, get out your cane," I was a little worried. Okay, so what other Joni songs lend themselves to this kind of treatment? >a whole new take on carey - but DONT go there if youre easily offended!!!! > >http://www.asstr.org/files/Authors/Mark_Aster/X53.TXT - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Deb Messling -^..^- dlmessling@rcn.com - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Apr 2006 14:57:52 +0000 From: "Patti Parlette" Subject: neil young interview - impeach the president njc First: Mille mercis (a thousand thanks), Ron. This was GREAT! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7utryGZ25dg (I am also struck by the "both sides now" of this video....don't miss the scrolling news banners at the bottom. Bush doesn't "rule out force" in Iran. Madonna mia!) Second: "All the people at this party, they've got a lot of style." EM! You crack me up like no other (well, then there are Smurf and Catherine, of course)! You wrote: "Ron, thank you so much! I would show him my god given BOOBS - that is how much I love Neil Young at this moment, and always." Boobs??? What a HOOT! Now you are a HOOTER??!!!! LOL... And then there is Muller: "Ron, thanks for the link - great clip. Everything he said was so well-stated. I just wanted to give him a big ole bear hug." Well said, Bob, comme d'habitude. Boobs, bear hugs....and from me, tears. Neil's words made me cry! I sat here at my blue-screened computer monitor and the tears just streamed down my face. FINALLY, someone speaks out! Praise be Neil! I like the way he is so calm and sure-footed and strong, but passionate at the same time. I am helplessly hoping that this record can "change the world, re-arrange the world....It's dying ... if you believe in justice....It's dying ... and if you believe in freedom..." NPIMHeart, for Neil: "So don't mind if I fall apart, there's more room in a broken heart. And I believe in love But what else can I do I'm sooooo in love with you!" (Carly) Thank you for coming around again, Neil Young. Boobs, bear hugs, whatever! What you want, baby we got it! I will bring you incense Owls by night By candlelight By jewel-light If only you will stay And the chorus of 100 beautiful voices from the City of the Fallen Angels? Would that Joni's were one of them! But I suppose not.....I don't imagine she's in the union he mentions. (Joni! Come out, come out, wherever you are!) Here is another heart of gold who holds out her candle and shines it in: check out Cindy's latest speech, given on Easter Sunday. She's the first video: "Hold Bush Accountable". I like her gestures to express the Dubyamatic logic of Bush's vicious circle war game. http://www.truthout.org/multimedia.htm Keep on rockin' in the free world, Neil and Cindy. You DO speak for me ("and you you know there may be more") and I am ever-so grateful. "All we are saying....." And not just Joni....you know there are MORE! The hits just a keep on comin'! I finally went there and I am totally blown away. I think there is more music here than I have years left to hear. (But I'll drag my feet just to slow the circle down.) I was THRILLED to see Asleep at the Wheel (the 2nd one listed, I think) playing the song I've been searching for: "Space Buggy" (what I named my car). Boogie with me to that one! And so much Joni, and Neil Young, and JT, and old old friends like David Bromberg and Leo Kottke and Zappa (wowie zowie!) and Quicksilver...there's "Browne Nash Crosby and Raitt" at a No Nukes concert. So much great stuff! Pardon my French, but this is unf@#$ingbelievable. I'll bet Joni could pop up unexpectly in some of these shows, too. Perhaps at a CSN one? If anyone finds her, please let us know. (LOL...that happened to me last New Year's Eve at a small party. The host put on a CSN dvd and we were all watching it and then Notre Joan appeared on stage and I went NUTS screaming: "It's Joni! It's Joni! Look! Look!" And everyone laughed because it was all so crazy because they all knew she was coming on. I was totally set up, but it was a great jumping-for-Joni-joy moment.) Danke schon, darling, danke schon! Bei mir bist du schon, Herr Musik Meister! Jeder man hier ist schon. What a place is this JMDL. Hi Patti Mikey has resigned from the baseball team and jumped into soccer full steam ahead. I guess his Latino roots are frothing. He is doing well and really happy when he is doing his thing. Julian has stepped up to the plate (pardon ME!!!!) and is playing. He had two games today. I missed the 1st one cause I was setting up for Wynton Marsalis' concert tomorrow debuting a new piece of music with the Jazz At Lincoln Center Orch and Odadaa (the music is AMAZING!!!). I am sorry I have not been to active on the list of late but finally I have a lot of business and things are jamming. I am trying to keep up with the workload and am blessed to have it. Things have been fun and challanging. We are videoing tomorrow and recording (with the same prod crew as the jazz fest crew I am working with next week so I hope to share some of the stuff when we get it done).
