Anything about C&S, I am going to buy ! I only posted on this group once or twice, but read occasionally. Bob -- I told you a while back that I was so intrigued w/ C&S that I was gong to buy Tom Scott -- "Tom Cat" (Also 1974 ?), and check it out. I did buy it and I think it is , hmmm.. Very good, but defeinitely lacking the "Spark" that C&S has, which is what we would expect. So, no suprises -- very solid, enjoyable music, even catchy, but not magical. - - Jeff Zinkerman - -----Original Message----- From: owner-onlyjoni@smoe.org [mailto:owner-onlyjoni@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Richard Flynn Sent: Saturday, February 25, 2006 12:45 PM To: 'Bob Muller'; Joni List Subject: RE: court and spark?? If she goes to LeHigh she will be close to the Full Moon. She is asking who lives near Bethleham it up, PA? Raise your hand if you are. We are drawing pictures of some guy in a turbin spinning around on a chair, invoking nystagmus while smoking Salvia divinorum. Jennifer is getting weird on me, blowing in my chihuahua's ear. Now she's laughing. She wants everybody to know she kissed him a little while ago on his tongue. She wanted me to paint it... a picture of the act not her tongue. I played her some Joni songs on my Martin guitar. She didn't recognize any of them. She just admitted to me she has not one Joni album. Now she is trying to redeem herself saying, "but I like Joni." I think she's just cheap. She said, "I am cheep" and she cheeped. If you have any duplicates of Joni albums, please send them to Jenny's Got Not One at 210 N. Elm Street, Little Rock, AR 72205. I'd guess few or none. Do you mean players who left North America in the summer and fall of '04, played in Europe '04-'05 and stayed there? I guess there might have been a few, probably young guys of European origin who went "back home" feeling their foothold in the NHL was tenuous anyway. And then there would be players who were cut during training camp last fall and went over, whatever their origin, hoping for a chance to play in Europe. I guess there is information put out by the various European leagues that could be analyzed to come up with a semi-accurate list, but that seems like a great deal of research to do. It was interesting that she picked some stuff I was already aware of ("Saturday Night Fish Fry") and already have ("Jeep's Blues", "Third World Man", "Harlem In Havana"). I didn't start listening to Ellington or Steely Dan because of Joni but there must be some simpatico there, below the surface. Plus, she mentioned a childhood neighbor, Mrs. La Franeer. So, I get a lot out of that disc every time. All the best, Jim L'Hommedieu now playing: Monk and Coltrane at Carnegie Hall Karen said, in part, >Wondering what you all think about this Joni Mitchell "Music That Matters To Me" CD being sold at Starbuck's? This is an interesting concept that Starbucks has got going, at first I was like, uh, huh? A while back, when I saw Starbucks selling CD's, it seemed so ... I don't know ... Repulsive, in a way, but then I bought one, or two ... And today at a Starbucks in the airport (just home from Disneyworld with the kids) I saw JONI MITCHELL on one and of course had to buy it. I haven't listened to it yet, but there is a booklet inside with some chat from Joni about each song and why it is important to her> ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 26 Feb 2006 00:27:11 -0500 From: "MIKE HICKS" Subject: smokey mtn. news/NJC Laura, couldn't help but notice the email address from smokey mtn. news. are you from that Western North Carolina area?
