As a newbie, I started out on a sour note with my protest about the pissing and moaning related to Joni's annoucement via managers, that she would not be in attendance at Carnege Hall. Because of the drama, I was going to check out of this JMDL. I was disappointment, to say the least. However, because of Lori's prompting, I have decided to hang long enough to give it a chance. While skimming through comments that are not related to JM, I stopped dead in my tracks reading your contribution. I have this to say. Gee, where do I start. And, where do I get off on thinking what I have to say would be of any importance? Ok... this is my attempt at encouraging you. "he still has a sense of humor . . he is still warm and loving. ." That is waaay cool. Do the research. You'll know what I mean. "This time has been good in a way. .a way to say a long good bye. .at first the doctors gave him 3 months. ." "on Saturday a doctor said 2 to 4 weeks. . .(you don't' know)" Again, google it and you'll be encouraged. Because of the tremendous amount of law suits, Drs. have to speak the worst. It's so bad, that it's a miracle people even still go into the medical profession. "It is really like a long wake with people coming to see him/us every day. .one, two, three at a time. . .yet, it is good that way. . . I like it. . this way. . .I spent a lot of good time with him An amazing testiment to a wonderful man. There is nothing better that communicates such a thing. "I have tried to have "no regrets". . WOW, WOW, WOW. Good for you. I have no better words. "loves his dog and his longtime girlfriend of 20 years. .. (a bright addition to our family)" This is my fave!!! Again, I can't find the words to express why. Gee, I'm really saying the right things to encourage you!! "he lived a simple life. . .liked wood burning stoves and all the things of the country he helped me do lots of stuff in the barn he would help anyone served in the navy in the Korean war. ." "Everything is okay everything is good" Lastly, I still can't find the words to comment. Ok. Can you hear my heart? Talk about peace! You project joy and peace, and LIFE onto whoever, where ever you go, don't you? You got that from you Dad. Peace and love to you Darlin', Cat Peace & Love Cathy Tired of spam? Yahoo! I am glad that his illness has been relatively short & pain free... hospice is pretty right on with their timing... we should all be so blessed & surrounded by love in our last days.. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Jan 2006 21:27:43 -0800 From: "Kate Bennett" Subject: Re: I asked the I Ching, will Joni Attend? If Rush does "Urge for Going," goddess help me, I will most certainly plotz!< he told me the only joni songs he does are urge & circle so its possible! Personally if I was given a choice to go & 1) hear joni do her songs or 2) hear this lineup do joni songs I'd choose the latter... honestly- I LOVE her songs done by others ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Jan 2006 22:13:52 -0800 (PST) From: "Kay Ashley" Subject: Night In The City @ Rockwood -- good news/bad news Hi Everyone, I'm writing to give you an update about the Night In The City benefit concert at Rockwood Music Hall next Thursday 2/2/06. Good news: we're still on. Bad news: because of a booking mishap, we can't start until midnight. I've been assured that we can play late into the night if we want, so there's no time pressure on the back end of things. By the way, here is the current list of confirmed performers: http://www.kayashley.com/calendar.html I really hope that ya'll will still come out in big numbers. The booker has assured me that we can hang and drink and play until the cows come home. The only things that will be missing are the pool table, the pond, the ducks and people making out on the floor. :-) Kay ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Jan 2006 22:58:53 -0800 (PST) From: Bryan Subject: Emmylou Woo-hoo! >Emmylou Harris' website reports that she's done "Magdalene Laundries" for it. Now *this* makes me salivate! >Mark E. in Seattle >Emmylou fan No kidding! Perhaps the long-awaited, long-delayed tribute CD is really happening, and with contributions like that it may be worth the wait. Hey ya'll who are going to NYC -- Enjoy the show and the company.
