I don't think I've known anyone who has told me of a scarier lightening strike experience!!!!!!! Take care and thank you for being so generous to others! Sherelle Peep wrote: Hi...... Interesting experience last Thursday.....there was a torrential downpour here (the Garden State), then a few thunderous rumblings....then a ear-shattering BOOM!!!! I live in an apartment complex....huge, don't like it here....and that BOOM was a lightning hit.....I walked outside, smelled the smoke and all of our building was evacuated, like the wind pitching a monsterous breath causing the leave to quiver, threatening to fall to the ground. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Aug 2005 19:01:13 -0400 From: "Jim L'Hommedieu" Subject: Subject: Funk Brothers at the Birchmere! Oh, but wait...what about a fifth age, the BSN and Travelogue-style Joni? Could we dub this TENALATM - the era nobody actually liked all that much? ;) I'd agree with Mr Flaherty re: the domestic bliss allowing her to focus her disdain instead towards those dodgy politicians, lawyers, evangelists and businessmen. It was a productive phase, IMHO, I enjoyed those records a lot, still do. Dated stylings and all :) Jason. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 09 Aug 2005 19:03:23 -0500 From: "Michael Flaherty" Subject: Re: Four (R)ages of Joni Mitchell? I might put C&S in the 2nd, but I'm not 100% on that. Maybe parts fit in w/ the first while others (eg Down to You) might fit in better in the second. Michael Flaherty ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Aug 2005 17:37:27 -0700 (PDT) From: Loren Carter Subject: A lithograph and accompanying invitations (SJC) All, Sadly my attempt to purchase a signed copy of the "swinning" lithograph failed. I put in a bid with a modest escalation amount, but someone else wanted it more than I, so I hope they have a appropriate wall for the work of art, and many years of enjoyment. For now, I'll settle for the signed copy of the BSN lithograph and the unsigned TTT one, as well as the program poster from the Dylan/Mitchell concert series on my walls (thanks Ashara). So, for Christmas I'll be looking for something else representative of our Ms. Mitchell as a present for my wife. It's a relief that I did not win the bid, I was getting a little apprehensive spending that amount of money for somehing I could not touch, from someone I did not know. I'm sure that all would have turned out just fine, but my mind (YES, it exists, I have pictures!) can wander down all manner of dark alleys when allowed to take that trip. I do get lost in thought since I don't make the trip often enough and lose my way. But, the invitations for the gathering at my house still stands. The wood flooring is in, and the ceramic tile in the kitchen and dining room begins tomorrow morning. The countertops are complete, and the refridgerator has been replaced and is making ice (which is all I need it to do). So, if the desire for a gathering still exists, I'll open my doors to whoever wanders in. The rest is up to you. Humbly, Loren........... NP...Fairly Odd Parents on Nickelodeon on the TV downstairs. Tori Amos has announced that she's going to release 6 live recordings...hey, why let the bootleggers make all the money? The first release will contain her live cover of "The Circle Game": http://www.ifmagazine.com/new.asp?article=2322 And in other live news, there's a killer live Lucinda Williams show streaming on NPR's "All Songs Considered" - over 2 hours, and featuring 4, maybe 5 new songs. Lucinda says she's got 24 new songs written. (Maybe she can hang out with Joni and let some of that rub off) Enjoy!
