Possibly even more. I also have her debut album, Love In The Time Of Science from about 2001, which is more electronic (Bjork is more of a reference there) but only slightly less lovely. It seems that Kennedy's debut album Great War Of Words is being reissued next month in the UK; I came across it on amazon while researching 1990 releases for my database. I missed it first time around, so I may take the plunge with the re-issue! She's sending me her CD with the Joni cover and some other goodies as well. She also sent me the setlist for Sunday night's show as well as the instrumentation set-up. I expected to see the same old, same old, and of course there is a certain amount of that. (How could you do a Joni trib and not perform BYT, BSN, Woodstock?) but there are some big surprises as well. Since Les is going I won't share the specifics with the list yet, but I was very impressed. Les, you are in for quite an event - enjoy and report, sir. I sent up my prayer and now I wonder, where did it go?????? I had put my heart & soul into it -- and Julius's, too, I think. Oh, sour grapes, because I lost my post! I have to run out, but I couldn't leave you all wondering, so for now, this will have to do. "Truly important" includes the health of everyone here, and the health of your loved ones. Although I don't always chime in when somone has asked for thoughts or prayer, please know that I keep all of you in my thoughts -- and prayers -- daily. It does this neat "thread wrapping" that rolls all the email in one thread into one line item. You can scan up to 100 different threads on one screen, which may represent many hundreds of emails. Click on a subject and the related posts will open like folders in a file cabinet. I've used the program for probably 6 months now, and so far it hasn't been too annoying in the directed advertisement area. On the other hand, I use it primarily for JMDL mail and little else. I always seem to have 50 "invitations" for Gmail accounts to give away (as do other Gmail users, I'm sure). If you'd like one, let me know and I'll send an invitation your way. Please do realize that Gmail won't help you much if you're already on "digest" mode, but it WILL do a great job of organizing your mail if you s*ubscribe to the "individual post" method. I receive no compensation of any kind for inviting people to use Gmail. I just like the way it works for my JMDL mail. Happy Saturday, everyone! The Vanity Fair horoscope from the August '05 issue cracked me up because it sounded so like Joni: "Scorpio Oct. 24-Nov. 21: Scorpios are not intellectuals, by any stretch of the imagination. They are guided instead by a being that dwells in the gut. When the ruler of their 3rd house is transiting their 9th, an angel of higher consciousness has been known to speak through Scorpios, giving them an almost mystical perspective on human behavior, their own included. Right now, you might be reaping the rewards of listening to your higher self. Unfortunately, that being is sometimes more like the creature from Alien -- and it's hard to tell which is which." Okay, she's admitted to not being an intellectual, "Ray's Dad's Cadillac" and her admission of reading nothing but comic books before she got to Mr. Kratzman's class are cases in point. "Mystical perspective on human behavior" ... name an album, any album. Is the "higher self" they're talking about her disdain of the music business and art in general? Hmmm.
