Most women only get one page facing a sort of profile of their career, but Joni has that photo and also a photo up by the table of contents or copyright page or somesuch front matter. There's also a smaller pic from, I'd guess, late the late 1960s. The overview of her career didn't look overly insightful, but there's a quote from Joni that sounds very much like her contrarian self. She says something to the effect that she wants no part of this youth obsessed culture, trying to hold onto youth with surgery and the like. She finished up by saying losing your hormones should be seen as a time of freedom. I'm paraphrasing, of course. - -Neil Neil Ellis Orts 713-838-1787 Houston, TX keep up with my creative endeavors--join my newsletter list: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/neonews ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Mar 2005 23:45:46 -0500 From: kjhsf@aol.com Subject: Rosie on Joni Somehow, I wound up on Rosie O'Donnell's blog at onceadored.blogpot.com. She rants and raves in an odd free-form style about many topics, and if you scroll down past her observations about Kirstie Alley,Condi Rice, etc., there is a nice little section where she talks about and quotes Joni's Sire of Sorrow. In fact, the blog name, "onceadored" comes from said song. It's kind of cute how she credits Joni and in parenthesis says "(all bow)". I appreciate her reverence for Joni, though the rest of her stuff, part poetry, part running monolgue, makes me wonder about her mental state.
