A stereo lossless version is available at the file-sharing hub (http://jmdl.com/p2pinfo.txt). Great interview with some interesting talk about the early "act" with Chuck that I've not heard touched on before. Teri Gross works her magic again! Enjoy... Amazingly some of those photos look exactly like my mountain home (but we don't have ancient castles!) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Oct 2004 00:24:29 -0400 From: Gary Zack Subject: Out-ofPrint Joni/Nyro/Touching Base (NJC) I enjoyed her discussion of BSN as a fantasy/reality song - I didn't understand her talking about the Geffen stuff as being unavailable and not in the stores though; It's all been available as far as I could tell. I'd love a CD of this broadcast if that becomes a reality. Bob Hi Bob, Awhile back I discovered that my "Dog Eat Dog" CD seemed to have a flaw in it; especially on the song, "Ethiopa." (a song I really like every once in awhile) I couldn't find DED in the stores (here in the United States), and it was not available through places like "CD Universe" or "CD Now." My other Geffen discs were fine so I didn't check about the others. But to me it appeared that DED was the first Joni CD to go "out of print" until the Geffen box came out. Obviously, it is not yet a rare single disc, and it is readily available on eBay, as well as Amazon from private sellers, but I do wonder if it will eventually go up in price, considering it is the one not likely to be released as it's own album/disc ever again. Interesting stuff to me. I can never link up with any of the Joni broadcast links that are posted. I think it's time for a new computer, or memory, or/and at least some sort of cable connection. I'm sure glad she's still talking though! I feel better knowing she's around! I don't post often but I keep up with the list. I love the idea of a Jonifest in France. This may be time for my first Jonifest. A little news from here in Detroit - my mother (Betty Zack) passed away on September 29th, and I am the lone survivor of my family. It feels sad and strange, knowing there is no one left who will know you quite like your mom (or dad, or ...) did. Things are better in my life than they were though, I do have employment, and am thinking seriously of moving out of Detroit (and the State) soon. I just don't know where yet...I think I'm going to travel for awhile...I need a recording studio; I'm ready to do some good work, and if someone knows a good studio engineer, a pianist, guitarist, etc., who are interested in working for pay, do contact me off-list. I'm ready to travel for the right combination. Joni Mitchell and Laura Nyro music would most likely be involved! As a loyal Laura Nyro fan, I need to mention that Laura's birthday was on October 18th, so if you're so inclined, spin "Captain for Dark Mornings" from "New York Tendaberry" which I think is one of Laura's most haunted and beautiful songs, in her honor. Or just spin the song of hers you love most, if you love her! I enjoy everyone's posts very much. It can feel like a real internet family here at Joni's.
