I haven't heard of this one (not that that's any surprise, since the only thing I've been reading lately is programming code and JMDL posts) but I'll keep an eye out for it. It sounds interesting! I was so sad to read the comment that nobody wants to hear what she has to say. And nothing could be further from the truth. I thought of that scene in Moonstruck where Cher slaps Nicholas Cage "Snap out of it!" We need more of Joni's insight and wisdom if we are going to ever reverse the direction that our culture has taken. She is right on the money, and I would give her a talk show if I owned a network! How wonderful that you were able to be the voice of all of us, Kakki, and let her know that there are so many fans and we are very interested in what she has to say, whether it be in words, pictures, paint, (or her own talk show ;-) Bill ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Sep 2004 09:52:24 EDT From: Smurfycopy@aol.com Subject: Re: Covers #56 - a Nifty Mix! One of my management team members called me at work to tell me that he'd just spoken to a local radio personality who hosts a smooth jazz show called "Sunday Brunch" and that the person listened to and loved the CD they sent him on my behalf and that he is going to put my music in regular rotation on his radio show! I kind of sat there dumbfounded saying, "No way! No way!" I had hoped, that the press packet sent to the radio station would get reviewed and I had secretly hoped that they would give me a shot...but to actually be put on a rotation???? Wow! I think it's supposed to start this Sunday. I call these two guys who manage me now, "the dynamic duo" because they are so enthusiastic about helping me! We're just going to release what I have right now and not charge too much for it. I'm already working on a second CD which I'm really excited about. For those who thought I was a little too smooth on the first effort, this one will have a little more "kick" to it. I'm more comfortable in this musical skin now. So think good thoughts for me please. D.C. I definitely agree with Kate on this one - I didn't like this at all, for a couple of other reasons as well as the one above. Hi Ya'll, I didn't read the rest of this, but it does seem mean spirited. However, I do think it is important to have one major language in this country. My grandparents didn't speak English and worked hard to learn it and melt in the pot to survive. The cost has been that I speak very little of their first languages. But, I do make a point of learning when I can.
