My son has a PS2 and it plays DVDs as well, although you have to be able to understand the Klingon-like hieroglyphics (it is most certainly not Japanese or any language known on earth as far as I can tell) that mean "start", "stop" "Pause", etc. (I just push buttons until it does what I want it to do). I don't know about VCD because I don't even know what those are. I do have a CD player. That's it! Maybe someone else in jmdl-land would have the answer to this and many other questions. Hope your Xmas is going well. The kids have already ripped open everything and hugged me many times for getting them "just what they wanted." Sarah is hogging the bathroom so no one else can take a shower. I'm preparing to deliver them to their father who is taking them to their auntie's. I served them the turkey dinner thing last night. Have decided I'm not all that fond of turkey! I'm spending the day with a friend of mine. (Kind of not into the big family thing since a few major life changes within the last few years. Maybe next year but I can't deal with hordes of people at the best of times - all that noise, noise, noise, noise!) ===== Catherine Toronto - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We all live so close to that line, and so far from satisfaction ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Dec 2003 10:00:54 -0500 (EST) From: Catherine McKay Subject: Re: Happy Holidaze! The ban on building roads in that area was imposed by former president Clinton. While it may seem like straight-forward right/left politics, Clinton put the ban in place during his last few days in office. Generally speaking, those last-minute executive actions were (uhhhhm...) of lower quality than the other decisions he made when he was going to have to answer for them later on. I've had similar problems at times with some other DVDs but this S&L is the worst curprit; anyone else find this a common occurance? Is this common with DVDs or is my Panasonic a lemon? One of my sons was in kindergarten and really wanted to dress as a mummy. I was sort of upset that he couldn't! I was complaining to God and then it dawned on me that I could wrap him up like a mummy, and he could be St. Lazarus, risen from the dead. It worked! Other saint costumes that would be fun for kids to dress in would be: St. John the Baptist, headless carrying his head on a plate; St. Joan of Arc, charred from the fire but still beautiful in soot; St. Stephen the first martyr, bloody with stones stuck all over his body; and St. Edith Stein blue from the gas chamber. The list could go on and on. For my money, they hit the Trifecta with Kimono My House, Propaganda, and Indiscreet. And would Queen have been possible without Sparks?
