Around 1967, there were "Stones fans" and then there were "Beatles fans". Most people were predominantly in one camp or the other. With the rise of the singer-songwriter, say about 1974, there were "words-first people" and "music-first people". Me? I'm a words-first person from the word "go". For me, the gateway drug, "Fire And Rain" was all about the sad story. Then I met my own Susan (not exactly "Suzanne" but close) and sorta stepped into the song, for better or worse.... Since Julie's not around to do this anymore, I'll do it for her: >>>Are you a words-first person or a music-first person?<<< All the best, Lama np: The Ballad of John and Yoko from the "1" collection PS, by 1985 there were two camps again: Disco fans... and Springsteen fans. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Dec 2003 01:10:47 -0500 From: "Lama, Jim L'Hommedieu" Subject: Musical funnies - njc Filigree Spector: a heavy-handed producer Phil Greed Spector, Wealthy producer of the Ronettes Mucho Deniro: A wealthy latin songwriter.
