This has gone on quite long enough, thank you very much. COLIN!@!! Where are you? I KNOW you're out there somewhere, lurking, or skulking, or reading archived digest and sooner or later COLIN, you are going to respond! You're probably sitting back there getting all snitty because no one has been asking about you, COLIN, and maybe thinking that no one cares and that we're all a bunch of rotten-to-the-core bastards and that nobody loves you. BUT COLIN!!!! You would be wrong! You are missed! We miss you! I miss you! We love you, COLIN! and we want to know the results of all those icky medical tests you had done. We miss your jokes, your constant questing for bitches in France and Germany and your HORRIBLE SPELLING! So, get your ass away from the telly or the knitting machine; stop trying to force those little dogs of yours to mate with other dogs not of their own choosing and send us a postcard, drop us a line, because COLIN - WE LOVE YOU!!! smooch, smooch, mwah! (I swear by all gods that be or may be, that I am not drunk and I am not on drugs. I'm just in a really weirdly happy stupid kind of mood and I just know I'm going to pay for this later, but who even cares?) ===== Catherine Toronto - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We all live so close to that line, and so far from satisfaction ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Nov 2003 19:11:00 -0500 (EST) From: Catherine McKay Subject: Re: Jonifest 2003 pics --- Steve Polifka wrote: > Does anyone have the website addy to these??? > Thanks, > Steve Here ya go, honey. http://www.hatstand.org/gallery/albums.php Have fun. ===== Catherine Toronto - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We all live so close to that line, and so far from satisfaction ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Nov 2003 09:43:22 +1100 From: "ash" Subject: film, a Joni moment...very brief From Tasmania is this old hat? I was fascinated by peoples' choices. I made up a list of all the songs that scored 7 or more hits. I see this list as a snapshot of our Desert Island Joni, as it were. For the sake of comparison, I noted with an asterisk the songs from our list that are not found among the top 35 in the Official JMDL Song Poll. Those marked by a plus sign do not appear on either Hits or Misses. Conclusion: we found some gems (the double-marked songs) that deserve more recognition - see below. Most Favourite Songs from the Most / Least Poll, November 2003 (songs that scored 7 or more Mosts) Cactus Tree + For Free Conversation * + The Last Time I Saw Richard + River A Case of You Cold Blue Steel & Sweet Fire + For The Roses * Judgement Of The Moon & Stars * Same Situation * + Down To You + Don't Interrupt The Sorrow + Harry's House * Amelia + Hejira Refuge Of The Roads + Song For Sharon + Don Juan's Reckless Daughter * + The Wolf That Lives In Lindsay * The Dry Cleaner From Des Moines * + Chinese Cafe * Moon At The Window * + The Three Great Stimulants * + Ethiopia * + My Secret Place * + The Beat Of Black Wings * Passion Play * Two Grey Rooms * + The Magdalene Laundries * The Sire Of Sorrow (Job's Sad Song) + Harlem In Havana * + Man From Mars * + Comes Love * + A Case Of You (BSN) * + * Songs marked by an asterisk do not appear in the top 35 of the official JMDL Song Poll (as of today) + Songs marked by a plus sign do not appear on either Hits or Misses Michael in Quebec ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Nov 2003 23:16:22 EST From: SCJoniGuy@aol.com Subject: Re: Snapshot of our Desert Island Joni (Most/Least) "Those marked by a plus sign do not appear on either Hits or Misses. " Thanks, Michael - there were some interesting stats in there to be sure. One thing that was obvious to me was that Joni's best fans don't consider her 'hits' to be her best work. Almost as if they resent them, in fact. It was also funny how so many people refused to pick a "least favorite" for Blue (myself included), as if they were betraying a close friend. Reason one he is precious: As my grandson Gage and I sat in stop and go traffic on 23 last Saturday, on the way to The Game (Michigan versus Ohio State played at Michigan, in Ann Arbor), maybe 10:15 AM, a guy in the car in front of us (with Ohio plates and an OSU sticker) jumps out of the car in his OSU scarlet shirt and runs barely into the woods and urinates. By the time we got off 23 and onto Washtenaw and almost to Stadium, we saw a bunch of other scarlet clad males do the same. My grandson says, "I thought only cub fans did that." About an hour after the game he looks ar me and says, "I want to go the game next year and pee all over their place." Making plans to go to colUMbus right now. 2. Reason two he is precious: He was in the office last week for maybe 5 minutes. I thought I was with him, his brother, and step father every minute he was in the office. I was wrong. When I got to the office on Monday I found that he had written a note on my desk and left it for me - when he wrote it, I cannot figure out - but how great it was to find a note that said: "I love you from Gage." ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Nov 2003 03:48:52 -0300 From: "Wally Kairuz" Subject: alone -- here njc i'm feeing kind of lonely tonight. this isn't a cry for help or anything. i just feel like sending this message to the list. i guess they're the only folks i can send a message like this to in the middle of the night. i wish i had a good job. i wish i were smarter. i wish it were autumn. i wish i were spending thanksgiving day with someone. i wish i had a home somewhere. i wish i wish i wish. ok. end of message. bye now, wally ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Nov 2003 02:06:24 -0500 From: ljirvin@jmdl.com Subject: Today in History: November 26 1975: Joni, as part of the Rolling Thunder Revue with Dylan and others, performed today at the Civic Center in Augusta, Maine. - ---- For a comprehensive reference to Joni's appearances, consult Joni Mitchell ~ A Chronology of Appearances: http://www.jonimitchell.com/appearances.html ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Nov 2003 02:06:24 -0500 From: ljirvin@jmdl.com Subject: Today's Library Links: November 26 On November 26 the following articles were published: 1993: "Question" - USA Today (News Item) http://www.jmdl.com/articles/view.cfm?id=958 2002: "Joni Mitchell bewildered by plan for a statue of her" - Vancouver Sun (News Item) http://www.jmdl.com/articles/view.cfm?id=1012 2002: "Joni Mitchell statue proposed for Saskatoon" - Saskatoon StarPhoenix (News Item) http://www.jmdl.com/articles/view.cfm?id=1018 2002: "Mitchell bewildered by effort to honour her with statue" - Regina Leader-Post (Interview) http://www.jmdl.com/articles/view.cfm?id=1013 2002: "Then she left in a big yellow taxi?" - National Post (News Item) http://www.jmdl.com/articles/view.cfm?id=1016 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Nov 2003 18:35:23 +1100 From: "don whiteman" Subject: [none] Hi All, I went and seen Neil Young on Friday Night at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. He did the Greendale show with Crazy Horse and a cast of about 40 - 50. Sensational! The new album "Greendale" comes with a solo DVD so you know the story behind the songs. He did Greendale first then came back and tries to shake the place down with classic songs. I got a role of shots that I took. If you get the chance see this show it is worth it.
