Michael Paz has found a less expensive way to get the DVD's duplicated, so.....now, the DVD's for Jonifest 2003 are the same price as the videos. What this means is everyone's previous order is potentially wrong, and I am confused to no end over here in MA. If you have already sent in an order for Jonifest Videos or DVD's, you need to do one of two things. 1) e-mail me at this address and tell me you'd like to keep the previous order exactly as is. (This is pretty much for those people that ordered videos and would like to keep that same order, as the price has not changed.) 2) If your order is to be changed in **ANY** way (DVD's instead of videos, overage of money paid, etc.) Please go to: http://www.jmdl.com/jonifest/store.cfm and send in a new order. You will need to fill out a completely new order, and check off whether it's a new or an updated order. You will also be asked to check from several options what you would like done with any overage you may have paid for DVD's. If you have not yet sent in an order for DVD's or videos, this is the time to do it. I'd like to get these DVD's and videos into everyone's hands as soon as possible. So, the deadline for all orders will be November 3rd. This should give everyone ample time to figure out what they want to do, and get me the info. Of course, the quicker the new orders are placed, the longer I have to make sense of everything, which would be very helpful. :-) NOTE: The DVD's are Region -free, and will be able to be played on ANY system, regardless of where you live. Thanks everyone!! I have written here about poor Mrs. Morrisey, Amelia Earhart's only sibling, who was my study hall overseerer in 10th grade. It seems so out of character for her. This cowboy/bandit mythology so popular in the late sixties/early 70s. Counter culture = outlaws, etc. It is a catchy tune, and I've always liked the way the Dead did it. But Joni? I really can't imagine it. (How come no one knows?) I think Joni, being a plains gal, feels a lot of kinship with Western/Native American things. Have you seen the childhood photograph in which she wears a cowgirl suit? And then there's "Cool Water" with Willie Nelson. Her attraction to Georgia O'Keefe comes to mind, too. Many here have often asked about the location of Joni and the music gangs' spots in Laurel Canyon back in the day. There is a book I recently browsed through at Book Soup in West Hollywood (also available on Amazon.com) called "The Underground Guide to Los Angeles" which gives a very detailed tour of the Laurel Canyon neighborhood and where to spot everyone's houses. I haven't picked it up yet but will soon. You might want to pick it up while out browsing for new red shoes in L.A. Stephen ;-) > NP: the ceiling fan- it's fecking hot here! Oh is it ever! The states, however, do have majority rule democracy. We elect the governor, state senators, mayors, etc. directly. Didn't we get the idea of a representative democracy (republic) from the Iroquois nation? If we are supposed to be a union of states, a representative republic might be more fair than a majority rule democracy because majority rule would probably always give the states with the most population what they wanted and that may not always correspond with the needs of smaller states.
