Yes, it is very disturbing how the end times crowd is working to play out their themes and their books that are poor attempts at second guessing God with who will be "Left Behind." It's nothing short of an attack on Christianity by false prophets that plague every generation. It is just what Joni was singing about in Roses Blue. I think she is right, that if we keep laughing we will win... can't let them get us down, down to the level of hate these fundamentalists have. After all, laughing and crying really do provide the same relief... and laughing is so much more fun. Can't just be me who's gone >"Hey - this thing isn't a piece of junk after all!"... > >- --Chris Marshall Maybe its because I'm such a manic person, but I can think of three or four times that I nearly forgot an instrument then rediscovered it. Most of them have to do with my parents buying me a newer cooler version of an old instrument (for example, my graduation gift... an upgrade from a 1300 dollar folk harp to a 13000 dollar concert harp.... needless to say, I got a renewed interest in playing the harp.) Ah, then there is my new attachment to the guitar. Two reasons for that: Watching Joni perform on the guitar live made me want soooo much to be like her. Too bad I suck at different tunings. Then I watched the New Led Zep DVD- nothing like some Jimmy Page to want you go pick up a guitar! I'll be performing an arrangement of "All I Want" at a university Open Mic night/Talent Show in Provo, Utah... I'll let you all know how it goes. First time I;'ve dared to tackle a Joni piece. - -June np:Cat Stevens "the Wind" ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Jul 2003 00:46:13 -0400 From: Janet Hess Subject: Shameless self promotion (NJC) A short-short story I wrote has just been added to the Prairie Home Companion website.
