I DIGRESS... Joni Words ANALYST CHEVRON FERRIS WHEEL CROCUSES Those will do for now... but there are tons arn't there....... I love words and and was actually responding to (probably) Hell (hi there Hell) but found her post in Murphs reply! How complicated can this be?.... Even "okay" is slightly different to "OK". >> OK is something that is very throwaway to me. OKAY seems to carry a bit of preponderance with it, a value judgement of some sort. If it was possible to see the words that come from our mouths then when you ask someone "how are you" and they reply "OK " then that means things are OK but if they replied "OKAY" then you would raise an eyebrow and perhaps say "OKAY ......BUT?" and then the story would unfold... If someone uses the awful "okely dokely" then you would just ignore them as that means they don't take themselves or your enquiry seriously... (I am being very very tongue in cheek here before anyone says, "hang on I say that and take myself very seriuosly and here are the links to prove it") Get to the point Lucy..... (this is the beauty of being on Fluoxetine again, it starts opening up the brain to a bit of meandering and that is nice, having been a bit stuck in a rut)...NOW WHAT WAS THE POINT ..Ah yes!!! THE GOD OF SMALL THINGS is one of my favourite books... Written by Arundhati Roy it is full of unusual word patterns and the most delightful and surprising turns of phrase... I have just been glancing through it to find something to quote on here and got drawn in....... again... but this is just a few tiny snatches from one page.... " A distant trainrumble seeped upwards from the frog stained road....the doorways were full of young men with helmetty haircuts.....A carbreeze blew. Greentrees and telephone poles ..... A pale daymoon hung hugeley in the sky......." Oh I shall have to read the whole book again. it is an uncomfortable story but just one of the most beautifully written books ever... written and I WISH I HAD WRITTEN IT, but then I wish I had written "When the sun turns traitor cold and All the trees are shivering in a naked row"........ Just can't have it all can we? AM going to send this and see how I get onto the NE Jonifest list too...... Arrrgggghhh more having to sort things out....
