The problem is in my neck. It seems months and months of bending it forward ahave taken the curve out and it is causing compression on the nerve pathways, hence the pain down arms, back and chest. so it is my sewing, more than anything else, that has casued it! Who knew sewing could be so dangerous! Although of course the knitting and pc also mean a bent neck but not for so long...... My back and shoulders are fine.. will have the final cardiac test on wednesday but it seems academic now..... so when my pain in the neck has gone, I should be back to being your pain in the neck..... bw colin ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 03 May 2003 04:31:16 -0700 From: "Lori Fye" Subject: Re: neck njc > so when my pain in the neck has gone, I should be back to being your > pain in the neck..... You can sort by artist, by song title, by CD volume...and even see which ones I'm trying to track down and maybe help out! But my ACTUAL favorite part of the site is the ARTICLES database...what an incredible resource, and always a quick way to find out just about anything about Joni & her music, her history, etc. The SCJoniguy extends much gratitude to those who have typed their fingers slavishly to make this happen. Speaking of covers...I'm still holding and frantically waving in the air the "Pennsylvania Freebie" which remains unclaimed thus far. What? Are y'all Amish up there? No CD players? And I'm still taking song guesses, thanks to all who've given it a shot thus far. I'll continue to take them through the weekend and announce the winner Monday AM. As always, if you don't win one but still want one (they're great for slicing a juicy Taylor Ham!) lemme know and I'll hook you up. Those in Europe can contact John van Tiel who will be able to assist. He's got a full shelf dedicated to Joni covers! I'm also going to attempt to put #40 on our P2P network for file-sharing for those who are participating... In the section called 'Music' he writes: 'I am a product of my imte and was a great Beatles fan. I used to love the Mamas and the Papas, especially the voice of Mama Cass. In late Eighties I was besotted with Carly Simon. 'You're So Vain' is a classic. Joni Mitchell's Blue is one of my favourite albums. I have always liked women writers. They come from a position of having been used by their lovers in some way and it makes them put incredible stuff on the page.' Yayyyyy I've always admired Brian Cox. Now I know why! Bruce pulls up in the Land Rover...gets out and does not hesitate to greet his waiting fans...not too many...about 40 or so and not all there to see Bruce...lots of Bon Jovi fans. He starts walking toward us...so I say to myself...this is it girl... u can do this...so here we go....I have my camera in my hand and perhaps he thought I was from the press, I dunno...but I talk to him...I asked him if he would please sign my promo pic of himself... the one that is on his website now (Jim, my husband had gotten while waiting in line to purchase tickets to this event...which we fell 4 short of in line, btw)...I had in my purse tucked away for this day..which I was sure it was close...I have felt this for weeks...he takes the pic and signs it very nicely and hands it back to me....I thank him and I continue to photograph him...now he's right in my face...he says ...please do not do that...Rosie STOPS...I have nothing but the highest respect for this man...so I ask him, Bruce, u don't want me to photograph u...he does not answer...I dunno if he was even talking to me, he remains aloof... someone could have been feeling his ass for all I know LOL, as the small crowd is gathered around him at this point....I don't think he felt well.......to be continued ~rosie In the morning there are lovers in the street They look so high You brush against a stranger And you both apologize ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 May 2003 12:40:03 -0700 (PDT) From: Darice Subject: There is only one Janis (NJC) Sorry about the Janis ref without a qualifier but I agree that there is only one Janis (everyone except JOPLIN) needs to be indentified. On the same level, to me there is only one Elvis, and it has taken me years to realize that some people speak of Elvis Costello as "elvis" without any indentifier. This has led to a lot of confusion for me, trying to make the comment make sense about Elvis P when it was said about Costello. Same at work with Dylan; Bob vs Thomas. Darice ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 May 2003 17:49:48 +0100 From: "joe farrell" Subject: today in history Wednesday May 3 1972 Joni played at the Odeon cinema in my hometown, Manchester, England, Jackson Browne was the support act. What a night, Joni looked and sounded amazing. There was just Joni alone on that big stage with guitar, piano and appalachian dulcimer and her presence was overwhelming. As she came on stage a guy ran from the front and climbed on to the stage and gave her a big bunch of flowers and a kiss on the cheek, i was green with envy. At the end of the show, as an encore, Joni had us all stand up and sing Circle Game game with her, goose bumps and hair standing on the back of my kneck, it was incredible. Every time i pass the Odeon i think about that night, magical memories. Jackson Browne was pretty good too.
