When I was six, a guy tried to lure me into his truck by offering candy. I was on my way to school and either dawdling behind my brother and sister, or had run on ahead of them. Fortunately they saw what was going on and yelled at me and the guy took off. I don't remember anything about what happened after that. I don't know if my parents called the cops or not. I do remember I never wanted to get into anyone's car after that, even if it was someone I knew. It still haunts me to this day that this guy might have succeeded with someone else - or maybe he was just offering me candy. I can't even ask anyone about it, because my parents are both dead and I don't know if they'd remember it. (Boston pronunciation for "shorts.") Same here! This is the freakiest weather ever. Last weekend we had the worst ice/snow/frozen rain storm in years. The streets were covered with a three-inch thick layer of ice that was hard as rock. And the city's snow-clearing contracts ended 31 March. They dragged the snow-clearing equipment out slowly, but it took three days before they got to my street and trying to get out onto the main roads was a nightmare. Of course you couldn't find salt anywhere, as all the stores that sell it had put it away and hauled out the patio furniture. Today it was 27C. I was just out walking the dog in a short-sleeved T-shirt. There's this strong westerly wind blowing. In some areas, despite the heat, there's still a bit of snow or ice left, because it was packed so tight. They were saying we might get more freezing rain tomorrow (cripes!) but now there's no mention of it, although the temp will drop overnight to no more than 7 or 9 C. ===== Catherine Toronto ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Apr 2003 22:08:56 -0400 (EDT) From: Catherine McKay Subject: Re:(NJC) Now, it's jewel-encrusted toilet seats --- FMYFL@aol.com wrote: > Chris writes: > > > Geez, more messy stinky nasty poop juice all over > the jmdl > > This reminds me, I heard Ben Affleck purchased a > $105,000 gem-studded toilet > seat for fiancee Jennifer Lopez.
