Janis has many valid points on the issue (and she should know). God knows the companies have ripped off countless recording artists. But the bottom line of the issue, for me, is that recorded music and lyrics are copyrighted materials, property worth protecting. And nobody has the right to copy and distribute copyrighted materials without permission. Sure, it's a great way to market and distribute music - but only with permission! I am disgusted when people refer to distributing (stealing) copyrighted materials as "file sharing." It is simply not their file to share. Everything isn't free, even on the internet. Maybe "I Know Lesbos with Low Voices?" So many parodies, so little time. --Bob ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Oct 2002 22:47:06 -0700 From: Michael Paz Subject: Re: [NortheastJonifest] Re: too proud to beg for jonifest photos, njc Thanks so much Jenny and also Kakki for the nice comments. I am SO behind on emails and I am trying not to post to much lately and all at once. (I have gotten complaints that I post 15 times after long pauses. Glad you like the stuff and especially Flat Tires. Christina and I played with Jack last night with Jack at one of his gigs and we did Offnight Backstreet together with her singing it and it was SO much fun. We also did Woodstock and Jack did For Free. IF we are not careful we will become regulars on the local music scene and have TOO much exposure. Also this just in! I was at the airport tonight and thought I saw a woman in a 3now faded2 cobalt blue affair. The robust woman looked like she had been ridden hard and put up wet (QUE WHY!!!!!) She resembled someone Jack and I played with on the late night sets up in the Catskills last summer, but that couldn9t be...besides Southern Decadence has been over for weeks now. Ah well... Anyways kids life goes on here in the land of music and food and wish you all were here. Love Paz on 10/22/02 6:52 PM, Jenny Goodspeed at jrgoodspeed@yahoo.com wrote: > Yes indeedy, open it!
