Julia played for about 40 minutes. On the MainStage. Older 'hits' and new tracks from the new CD. Her band included guitarist David (or is it Larry?) Goldenberger, and Jennifer __________(blanking on her last name), bassist (BOTH OF WHOM WERE UP HERE ACCOMPANYING Julianna Raye last Sunday! at a teensy club: they are *so* first-rate!). (not to mention Julianna's mega-talent!) Julia wow-ed the crowd about maybe ...a thousand? only a few hundred of us up close to the stage. She sashayed, and danced across the stage during "south africa" and... 'manhattan skyline' of course made us all goose-bumpy. People clapped along, and swayed. Her 4 octave range is amazing. She also treated us to great guitar-playing with the band/backup. "Concrete Love" and a couple of others from the new CD sound much better live. Afterwards, she went to the Borders 'booth' at the Pride Celebration and signed. 100's of people lined up: at least 2 hours of signing. Pretty amazing, she is definitely *the* highlight of the 2 day 'mainstage' entertainment. Happy Pride!! (to all and any who celebrate!) Now i know where i am going singing 4show me the waaay to Bahar-an-grihill. Now i love the last part about the guy at the gaspumps even more because he does back to her what she is doing all the time: singing about one4s own life, and totall strangers connect through the language of music. Let4s be honest, not many strangers want to hear about your life unless you do it to a great tune. I am not only paying attention this time Bob, but i am going for an A level as well. Then he said that if something's bothering me, I should know that I can always "talk it over" with him. I said, "Great. Should we do that in person or by email?" He more fully explained (over the following ADDITIONAL 20 minutes) that he meant when I feel anger about a policy I should let it "roll off" as if it was rainwater. I'm not a smart man but I finally realized that he was trying to say "I have an open-door policy as long as you promise to never, ever use it. And keep your mouth shut." Naturally, since one can not actually 'mouth' those words, it actually takes 35 minutes to convey what one doesn't DARE to speak out loud for fear of being unprofessional. Oh. Got it. So, I'll bring my sarcasm to THIS table instead: "One nation under-achieving with conformity and mediocrity..... for all."
