Remember when Pete Best put out his album and called it "Best of the Beatles"... how many people bought that thinking it was in fact the best of the Beatles instead of Pete Best who got kicked out of the Beatles before they hit big. It was that sort of thing. Get some band that could sound a lot like the Beatles, put it on the market fast, call it "All the Beatles Lovin' for You" or whatever, and sell it for a $1 or so less than the average LP - that happened a lot then. I have a translator on my computer and when French is used there are graves and acutes etc above the letters. I have used them before and always get asked if I have a special continental keyboard with accents and Spanish upturned question marks. Let me try those - (?Las preguntas?) I used the translator Eng to Fr for "instant bliss" and all three "e"s, (save the last in "felicite immediate" with acutes above) have been changed to "i"s hence the confusion. Apologies all round. You always deliver the goods, Kakki, and give us a real taste. Thanks! Somewhat Crosby related, I went to a house concert at my brother's place last night to see a young American singer-songwriter from North Carolina - David LaMotte. He was absolutely fantastic and put on a wonderful show for the small audience. It turns out he knew Crosby's guitar technician and his wife, the Crosby children's nanny on the last tour, and got to go back-stage and meet the man. I shook a hand that shook Crosby's! :-) Do any of you know of David LaMotte? If he comes your way I can highly recommend him. You'll have a great evening. He's off to Melbourne (Gerald!!!) on Monday for two more house concerts later this week. And now, back into the wombat burrow! Cheers, John (in Sydney). __________________________________________________________________ Get your free Australian email account at http://www.start.com.au ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2002 #149 ***************************** ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here: mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:joni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe ------- Siquomb, isn't she?
