I would not have imagined they really even knew each other. But that is very cool. I adore Anjelica and i agree mark..one of my fave movies is the first addams family movie. Anjelica is a fabulous morticia. Did you know they originally wanted Cher and Jack Nichalson for Gomez & Morticia!? That just would not have worked for me...raul julia did a fabulous job as gomez. My fave quote from the movie... "Gomez...Last night you were, unhinged. You were like some desperate, howling demon. You frightened me...Do it again."-Morticia ;o) Rachael - -----Original Message----- From: "Mark or Travis" Date: Thu, 13 Dec 2001 18:48:03 -0800 To: "michael o'malley" , Subject: Re: Joni & Anjelica Re: > Surprised to see there weren't any comments about Anjelica Huston's Re: tribute to Re: > Joni at the Toronto festival. Re: Re: One of my guilty pleasures is the first Addams Family movie. Casting Re: Angelica as Morticia was a stroke of genius. 'Don't torture yourself, Re: Darling! That's my job.' Or was that Smurphy talking to Wallushka? Re: Re: Mark E. Do any of you h\know how totally frustratin it is to be a newbie and not have a clue what yall are talking about...hehehe :oD I have not be a "newbie" when it comes to an artist in so long. I am used to being the expert and always having something to say...but i have to admit it is really interesting to hear ya'll defend the different albums. The albums I have right now are "Court&Spark", "Blue", "Ladies Of the Canyon" which i have listened to religiously for a few months and I just bought "Clouds" yeaterday. Oh yeah and i have "Both Sides Now" & the "words & Music" which were promos from Reprise to the radio company I was working for. They don't play joni's stuff so i swiped them! (Shhh...don't tell them..hehehe) Anyhow...thanks to all for the warm welcome! - -- _______________________________________________ 1 cent a minute calls anywhere in the U.S.! http://www.getpennytalk.com/cgi-bin/adforward.cgi?p_key=RG9853KJ&url=http://www.getpennytalk.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Dec 2001 23:03:10 -0800 From: "Kakki" Subject: Re: Stink, Lanois, Blade (njc) Paz wrote: >Anyways I was just interrupted by Freda >hollering that Stink was on Leno and THANK >GAWD I caught THAT. Tonight Sting, Elton John and Daniel Lanois performed at a private estate as a fundraiser for the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic. Sting must have dropped by Leno on the way over. And oh boohoohoo, I stood in line in the cold for 2 hours last night trying to get into the show and didn't make the cut ;-( They were sold out and I didn't get in line soon enough. The management told us if some people didn't show we could come in but after waiting forever many showed up at the last minute. (Many looked to be very rarified industry types). Oh I'm middle-aged and have lost my edge ;-) A few of my line-mates were talking about going to the benefit tonight - it must have been amazing. If I see any reviews about the shows I'll post a link. I've noticed something interesting about people of a certain age and Love. "Back in the day" Love was loved but kind of got lost in all the other incredible music coming out then. Yet I have met so many in recent years who, when looking back through their boxes and boxes of classic old vinyl, will oooh and ahhhh and sigh the most about the Love albums, myself included. My few vinyls are scratched to all hell but I found a really wonderful site that has all kinds of news, including news of reissues coming out. Time to update. The site also has tabs and a list of bootlegs among other great information. Victor - where's Victor? ;-) Do you know their music? If not, you should check them out. I think you would be VERY simpatico with them. I cannot believe Arthur Lee was sentenced to 16 years for firing a gun into the air!! I think shooting a gun in the air is a hideously irresponsible thing to do and it unfortunately is done by a lot of people around New Years and Fourth of July. But 16 years?? I doubt that all the others who do this get a sentence like that. At least he is getting out and hopefully he will play the clubs again. I would fall over to see him with his old bandmates.
