It's funny how Joni's lyrics mean different things to different people - and something I really love, the fact that they are open to so much interpretation. The lines "Ink on a pin, underneath the skin, an empty space to fill in" I always took literally to be a reference to tattooing, I never thought about it as a reference to drugs (but I can see how one could see that). I've never had trouble coming up with words, and have written several things that could pass for song lyrics, but I'm pathetic when it comes to music. Everything comes out sounding like a nursery rhyme! Hell - out of lurkdom briefly, and not for one moment suggesting that I am a "song-writer"! ____________________________ "To have great poets, there must be great audiences too." - Walt Whitman hell@ihug.co.nz Hell's Personal Photo Page: http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~hell/main/personal.htm Visit the NBLs (Natural Born Losers) at: http://www.nbls.co.nz ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Dec 2001 18:31:03 +1300 From: "hell" Subject: RIP - Sir Peter Blake (NJC) Sir Peter Blake 1948-2001 A few highlights: 1989/90 - Line, handicap and overall honours for round-the-world race aboard Steinlager 2.
