Hello, stay-at-homers: I'm new to the list. I'm just now reading about the Jonifest, I'm sorry I missed it. They must be having one hell of a time! Has Joni ever attended her own party? (I doubt it. I answered my own question) Well, I'll mark my calendar for next year. Was initially going to post a message saying that I hoped all the jonifesters were having a great time and I hope that they are but will change it now to say that I hope all of the non attendees are doing well and having a nice day; since the participants haven't posted and there is so much mention of their absence. So those at home, greetings and I hope that you are all well and having a great day yourselves. best wishes. mack ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 2 Sep 2001 17:58:43 -0500 From: "Dolphie Bush" Subject: missy njc to chris. Hey, chris. Hard for me to distinguish from which album of Missy's to suggest to you cause I like them so much but I will tell you which ones I find the best of the best. Melissa is great, Better Days and Happy Endings of course, Home to myself is fantastic. She was still pretty earthy and gritty on these albums and described herself as the girl of paisley, crystals, and beads. Bright Eyes that Ken from SF mentioned is also great. Still has the same feel but has a little more of a rough edge to some of the tunes. Course she changed as time went on and became more polished. Remember the hit record "Hey Ricky". An okay song and pretty catchy but not real great Melissa. The album it came off of is great though. Real polished with some great tunes. :Hope you enjoy her. take it easy. later. mack ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Sep 2001 00:18:38 EDT From: SCJoniGuy@aol.com Subject: Re: pics? (Fest content) Hi, and welcome Bree! No, Joni hasn't come to a fest...yet. But we always hold out hope! Nice day in Topsfield today, gorgeous weather all day long. A nice day to sleep in a bit, recharge batteries, enjoy some nice company, coffee, and food, and of course conversation. We all convened over at Atty May's/Plum Island, and listened to some great music by Jeff, Kate, Victor, Michael, Gregg...BIG crowd there, Michael had a N.O. blues band come in, and they rocked the house, but it was too much crowd, too much smoke, too much noise for most of us, so we headed back to Ashara's and piled in a couple rooms with guitars, percussion, etc. and did some good ol' "campfire" singalongs. Right now in here we have the amazing Stephanie playing "People's Parties" accompanied by Willy the Shake & Jimmy. And they sound wonderful... Hope y'all are doing well wherever you may be. Les hasn't been able to post pics - technical difficulties... But trust me, there are lots of good ones, no incriminating ones of me that I've seen! ;~) Bob NP: Same crowd as above, "Same Situation" ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Sep 2001 02:30:35 -0400 From: "Suze Cameron" Subject: njc Livin' it.
