I've just acquired some iron-on t-shirt transfers, so naturally the first thing I decided to "make" was a Joni t-shirt. I've got the cover of Hejira on the front, with "SIQUOMB" underneath it, and the lyrics above on the back, with Joni's name, and the year of Hejira (1976). Mind you, I had a tough choice in deciding which lyrics to use - there are so many great ones, not to mention quotes. I also absolutely love: I looked at the granite markers Those tributes to finality - to eternity And I looked at myself here Chicken scratching for my immortality and I know no one's going to show me everything We all come and go unknown Each so deep and superficial Between the forceps and the stone Hejira is just pure unadulterated poetry! My next project will probably be the cover of Taming The Tiger, with "I sing my sorrow, and I paint my joy" on the back. God, I love Joni!!!
