I do, I do! I saw Hendricks & Ross here in Seattle at Jazz Alley a little over a year ago. They were incredible! If anyone wants an excellent overview of their stuff there is a 2 cd set called 'The Hottest New Group in Jazz' that has all of the tracks from 3 of their vinyl lps. Great stuff! I wondered why LH&R weren't mentioned in Ken Burns' Jazz since Jon Hendricks was one of the commentators. The series didn't mention many vocalists and most just in passing. Billie Holiday was covered the most which of course made me happy. It inspired me to do a compilation of the tracks that Lester Young played on. Maybe I'll get to that this weekend. The series described their musical kinship very well. Truly soul mates. Annie Ross was a friend of Billie's toward the end of her life, btw. Annie & Jon may be in their 70s but they sure can work a jazz club. Boundless energy & great singing. Those lyrics seem to spit out like bullets from a machine gun and each one right on pitch. Vocalese can be a bear to sing and those two can still do it perfectly.
