Rose there is a rebroadcast tomorrow, Wed 10am-2pm and Thur 8am-noon Pacific Standard Time (which will be 3 hours later EST) so unless your napping (!) maybe these times will be better for you...i remember after i left my job last year, all i wanted to do was sleep for a month or at least stay in my pjs all day. yes, pisces the fish i am, its at the end of the month...and yours? the site is at http://femmefatale.nu/femmefatale.htm I didn't join in the chat room because (blush) I've never done that sort of thing before and I think it was more technology than my middle-aged heart and brain could handle at one go. Next time, maybe. >> This middle-aged heart fell asleep. What time was it on EST? Please someone let me know when there will be a rebroadcast. Also, Kate was it your birthday? I had a friend in high school whose cousin was in the music biz and used to get us stacks of promo vinyl. I had the original Living in the Past promo and flipped out over them about 2 years before they got regular airplay. Finally saw them live in around '73 in college in Arizona and then again in around '75 at The Forum in L.A. (the acoustics totally there sucked ) I would recommend every single one of the early albums plus Crest of a Knave. I ordered Joni's Painting with Words and Music some months ago, and saw that 'Nothing Can be Done' was one of the songs performed. Thinking it was the 'Nothing Can be Done' from her NRH album, which happens to be one of my favourites, I soon realised it could not be as it credited Billie Holiday. When Joni finally came to it, the song was actually 'Comes Love'. Was 'Comes Love' at any time in its history known as 'Nothing Can be Done' (since the lyric does go: "Comes Love, nothing can be done")? (Or have I got a kind of collector's item with this misprint?) Anybody else with this typo care to comment and/or explain? Hey Neil, Welcome back! Our story to date: No, the tribute album has no release date yet. But everyone always brings up that there have been other opportunities to listen to Joni covers. (Like the TNT All Star Tribute concert, available for postage and blanks if you ask nicely, BTW). And of course, the Joni's Jazz recording by Simon. And the JMDL tribute set. Etc. The real news as far as I'm concerned is that Joni has material in the can for the next album, (working title: Lama Rocks). The new stuff is a collection of new arrangements by Vince Mendoza, just like BSN. If you were not around during the BSN tour in 2000, there are several audience recordings available. (I can set you up with Concord on 2nd generation cassette, or from Simon's Camden or MSG experience. Others may be able to set you up with a 2CD set of the LA show.) After the BSN tour, maybe the most exciting news of the past year was Ashara's JMDL video tree #2. This is also available for blanks and postage. (Just ask for directions off list.) There's too much to list so see http://www.jmdl.com/trading/index.cfm That should keep you interested for a while Neil. Michael, what a SWEETHEART you are to rally the troops! I think there were many others there, just not in the chatroom. What a fun media this is to go live all over the world & to have people joining in via a chatroom (I saw Gary Zacks name in there later). I am TOTALLY enamoured of this new media now & agree, we MUST find a way to webcast a jonifest...I haven't see the webcast yet, don't know that I did my best but hey, it was what it was & thank you all! The MUDBUG seal of approval! WOO HOO! Paz said, Last night I was no with a couple other JMDL'ers (Nikki in Philly and Mark in Seattle) to experience Kate Bennett Live. It was SO much fun. Kate (and Jeff) looked and sounded great and it was very nice of them to include us in the conversation live. Kate even played a song she wrote about Louisiana and I have officially given her the mudbug seal of approval. I think this is a great way to promote music and it would have been really cool if we would have had a bigger turn out of support for our sister, but i know how that is, I almost forgot myself. I understand there is gonna be replays of this same show, so CHECK IT OUT! My best to Kate and Jeff and also to Nikki and Mark. Maybe we can get a cyber Joni-Fest thing going sometime (whaddya say there Les?????). I tried to get the cybercast going for my Jonifest last year, but failed. ******************************************** Kate Bennett sponsored by Polysonics www.polysonics.com hear the music at: www.taylorguitars.com/artists/awp/indies/ www.katebennett.com www.cdbaby.com/katebennett www.amazon.com ******************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Feb 2001 22:06:54 -0800 From: "Kate Bennett" Subject: stevie nicks kinda njc Nikki, the indiegrrl that followed me last night did a great version of landslide, check her out on one of the reruns tomorrow or thurs. ******************************************** Kate Bennett sponsored by Polysonics www.polysonics.com hear the music at: www.taylorguitars.com/artists/awp/indies/ www.katebennett.com www.cdbaby.com/katebennett www.amazon.com ******************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Feb 2001 22:13:33 -0800 From: "Kate Bennett" Subject: jmdl plug njc Thanks Mark! There is one song on there called Sorcerer which I love...but it has been done by Sandy Stewart, and also Stevie before so I hope I am not as disappointed with that cause it is such a great song. Of course I will still buy it...lol...but I hope there is some other stuff on it that is better. Natalie Maines(from the Dixie Chicks) is on one track...and Lindsey Buckingham plays on 1 track I've heard...well we can hope right? LOL I d/l that other song from the soundtrack just now and I like the music a lot better, and I like the theme of the song but AGAIN she could really do better w/ some of the words...I think anyways...ok off to my guitar...
