Over the years I've specialized in town playing with singer/'songwriters who perform primarily original material, and have recorded a number of CDs with some of them. I've also done my stint as a session guitarist at local recording studios, doing jingles, getting hired as part of the backup band for singers who want to record but don't have a band,, that kind of thing. I've also been quite active in the theatrical community, having performed, either live or through recording, on a number of soundtracks and soundscapes for local theatre productions - again almost always original works. My main passion, musically, is jazz, but I do love singer/songwriters as long as they have something to say. Amongst the singer/sonwriters that I am particularly attached to are: Richard Thompson, Lyle Lovett, Randy Newman, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Shawn Colvin, Sara McLachlan, Tracy Chapman and, of course, Joni Mitchell. I have already managed to find someone who can provide me with CD Tree #1, so I've been getting busy on the site already. I have a wide range of live performances by various people and I can send lists to people who are interested. I am also a member of a new web site called the TapeList Repository, where people post their material for trade, and then get in touch with each other to work out trades through the site. It is pretty new (about 3 months old), so the music available is not yet very diverse, but we are trying to get more people to join. There is an automated joining process that comes from being invited to join by an existing member, so if this sounds like it interests you, send me an email and I'll invite you to join. All types of music are welcomed (in fact desired), so if you do any amount of trading, joining this and helping it grow will benefit not only yourself, but many other people who share a similar passion for music. So, a big howdy to all of you - anyone who feels like writing please feel free to do so, and in particular if you want to check out the TapeList Repository. Cheers! Hope your Holidays were wonderful. In case you received some extra cash for the Holidays and don't know what to spend it on, I have a WONDERFUL idea! There is a beautiful print by Jack Merkel that is being offered as a fundraiser to help out Jonimitchell.com and jmdl.com. You get a great picture of Joni as well as helping out the 2 websites that are so important to us Joni lovers. The fact is, there hasn't been as much response as I would have liked to this fundraiser. I need to cover my expenses before any money is raised for the websites, and that hasn't happened yet. These prints really are great, and I think very reasonably priced. (For those of you that have a print already, any comments to how much you are enjoying it?) Check them out at: http://www.jmdl.com/prints.cfm and http://www.jonimitchell.com/Fundraiser/Fundraiser.html In addition, if you love Tape Tree #2, and would like to show your appreciation for all the hard work that went into puttting this 2 volume set into your hands, (believe me, there are a LOT of hours that go into putting Trees together!) you can show your appreciation by sending a check(s) made payable to Jim Johanson and/or Les Irvin to: Ashara Stansfield P.O. Box 215 Topsfield, MA 01983 USA If there is enough support, it "may" just motivate some of the "behind the scenes" Video Tree people to put another together soon! :-) Hugs, Ashara ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 Jan 2001 09:21:02 -0500 From: "Jim L'Hommedieu" Subject: Danger everywhere (md) (NJC) So, one might say that sliding doors are 10x safer to operate than toilets. I know that most of my initial mailings of Volume 13 have been safely escorted to their destinations and I hope they are being enjoyed. Lemme take a moment or 30 to run down the tracks and tell everyone who's interested how they can get a copy... 1. Bettie Serveert, "River" - LOVE this one! It's got a real Cowboy Junkies feel to it, it stands out much like the Nile or Amazon as a truly outstanding River! 2. Catherine McKinnon, "Both Sides Now" - Catherine's version is very pretty, the arrangement is straightforward, nothing really breathtaking, but it's certainly likeable. 3. Parasites, "Both Sides Now" - NOW we're talking! For starters, they begin with a duplication of the harpsichord sound on Judy Collins' version, then they open it up with a Replacements/Ramones sound that is great, and is very successful imo. And the CD this comes from rocks from start to finish. Great power pop! 4. Shawn Colvin, "River" - another unreleased live track, Shawn is a HUGE Joni fan and plays a very heartfelt version. This was from a Christmas Eve 1998 broadcast, so the quality is wonderful! Anyone who has Shawn's "Covers Girl" record knows that she has a talent for interpretation, not to take anything away from her own songwriting talents! 5. Buddy Holly, "You're So Square (Baby I Don't Care)" - Buddy was so excited about the covers project that he returned from the dead to make this recording! Just kidding, this is actually from the fifties, his version of the Lieber-Stoller tune that Joni made her own on WTRF. 6. Mannfred Mann's Earth Band, "Banquet" - They miss a couple of verses, change some others (Some turn to Africa?) and layer the thing with synths and give the whole thing sort of a Night Ranger feel...interesting, but easily pinpointed to about 1986, which is when it was recorded. 7. Marcel Dadi, "Both Sides Now" - The OTHER Marcel. I was expecting more from this guy...not to take anything away from it, he's a very capable guitarist, but the whole track is less than 2 minutes. No vocal. Maybe it would be of interest to the many talented players out there as he layers finger picking with some chords... 8. Chaka Khan, "Man From Mars" - Oh my my!!! This is simply one of the best things I've ever heard! Chaka makes up for her fumble of Hejira in Central Park with this spot-on, soulful, mournful take on Joni's song of love & loss. Chaka's chops wring out every nanogram of emotion, and there's a wonderful electric piano solo by Mark Stewart that reminds me of Ray Manzarek's in "Riders On The Storm" in the way it builds and climaxes. Eight minutes of pure bliss! And as if this one wasn't enough... 9. Lydia Van Dam Group, "All I Want" - The piano intro will have you doing the Snoopy dance in your living room. Lydia's jazz version of this song is superb. She stays close enough to Joni's melody, but ventures out enough to wail and let her fine band stretch out! 10. Ralph Martin Willey, "Chelsea Morning" - Color me guilty...when I heard the wonderful Chaka & Lydia tracks, I became overanxious to complete #13. (So I'm an excitable boy...sue me! ;~D) I finished out the CD with 6 of the tracks from "Came Upon A Child of God". I would encourage everyone to pick up the original CD - it's cheap. Anyway, this Chelsea Morning is a laid-back finger-picked version that is very nice, sounds like Harry Chapin. 11. Vera Haime, "Carey" - Vera does 3 or 4 of the tracks on the tribute, she has a very capable voice. Carey is NOT an easy song to sing (without helium!)Her versions are all true to Joni's, what they lack in creativity they make up for in competence. 12. Bette Midler, "Twisted" - Perhaps the only version out there that's funnier than Joni's, I loved this one that has Bette playing both singer and audience commenting on the singer. What a world it would be if we all had her sense of self-confidence! 13. Lydia Van Dam Group, "Down To You" - More Lydia, with more to come! Another excellent cocktail jazz take on Joni, this time she tackles the "suite" of Down To You and where she captures the joy of All I Want, she just as easily nails the melancholia of Down To You. I think I've fallen in love with Lydia - and she won't return my calls! :~) 14. David Hay, "Chinese Cafe" - Always a pleasure to hear a fine male voice doing Joni songs, and this one is a Xerox copy of Joni's arrangement but obviously with a masculine feel. Very nice bass work as well. He sounds like Colin Hay (Men At Work) - wonder if they're related? 15. Vera Haime, "Big Yellow Taxi" - Again, very close to the original, but Vera's voice handles all the little yodels and tonal leaps required. 16. Lydia Van Dam Group, "Shadows & Light" - Another gem from Lydia, this adds a quiet contemplative instrumental arrangement and features more singing that captures the nuances of some of Joni's most difficult lyrics. Like Campbell's used to say, it's Mmm Mmm Good! 17. Treasure, "Both Sides Now" - This too is from "Came Upon A Child of God" and is good, features a female vocal with a voice that sounds like Bernadette Peters or somebody like that. High notes no problem! And nice addition of harp! 18. E-Clypse, "This Flight Tonight" - Sounds more like Joni than Nazareth! The vocalist sounds similar to Treasure, but the arrangement is almost something outta Nashville. Nice slide guitar effects, and the C&W vocal completes the picture. Whew! So that's what on it, them that's got it feel free to add your own thoughts. Many thanks to our JMDL contributors for this volume: Monica, who single-handedly restores dignity to the name! Here is the test of a message between Ashara and me. Quote The one picture that was offered as a gift to the jonimitchell.com maintenance fund...almost caused an argument here. My wife's mother thought that the signature looked like Joni's, and that since it was numbered, Joni did it, and that I must have paid big $$$$$ for it, and what a wonderful husband I must be to get something so special for her daughter. Even my wife began to believe her. I attempted to correct her on the first two items. I left the third one as it was and didn't correct her there (ab0out me being wonderful ;-D). I showed them the BSN litho (signed by Joni) as representative of her signature. Then they noticed that the signature on the picture had a J and an M. That led to even more belief. Finally, I printed your original e-mail that spoke of the event, it's cost, it's purpose, and the artist (who was Jack M-something), and finally my wife believed me. But seeing it [up close and personal, it's quite wonderful to behold. My wife went to a corner and examined it, to identify the songs where the words originated from. Some time later, she opened the Mendel catalogue, then it was off to the corner again, later, it was the litho from the Mendel exhibit, and, you guessed it, off to the corner, then the BSN hat. It went onto her head. As she opened the tubes and wrappers, saw your name, she had to mention that this stuff was from a woman that I was corresponding with regularly. I told all of them that I was leaving to meet her (you) next summer, so be prepared. Ma'am, count on me for next year's fest. If I have to come alone I will, but I'd rather have company. My wife is the real Joni-phile not me. I only joined this troupe to find a TTT litho a couple of years back. Now I can't leave. I'd miss you all too much. unquote Now, if you need some help covering expenses, count on me. I'll drop a little something in the mail just cuz I love you, and to help out with a group of folks who helped me through a tough personal time a while back. And I want to make sure that I get the chance to meet everyone at next years gathering at the Massachusettes Woodstock. I am not literate enough to adequately express my feelings for a group of folks I've never met, but you all are dear to me. I've told Ashara that when we meet later this year and get to huggin', you all might have to throw some water on us to break us apart. But, back to the point, the drawing is quite nice. It's even more impressive up close than on the web page. Ours will be in a frame soon. Someone in my house has a birthday coming next week, so it'll be framed for her. THAT doesn't weigh much at all, does it? > And the victims arent necessarily connected to the > statement that the perpetrators want to make. Very often the victims have nothing to do with the statement. It's mostly about how much press a terrorist group can get. When I lived in Germany in the mid-80s, the bombings occurred in populous cities down south (like Frankfurt or Kaiserslautern), or in Berlin. I lived up north (in Bremerhaven) and felt relatively safe. Our "rules of thumb" were that the terrorists a) would bomb places where there were heavy concentrations of Americans (there were only about 3000 of us in/around Bremerhaven), and b) lived up north and wouldn't bomb the citizens of their own towns. > Now Im not sure I know anyone who takes in borders > that they dont know. I used to own a large house in one of the lower-income areas of San Antonio. My then-partner and I lived in the main house and rented 3 small "apartments." Two of the apartments were connected to the house; the other was part of a separate garage. When we bought the house we inherited one tenant who had started out just fine -- not the brighted bulb in the set but married and gainfully employed -- but who degenerated to a divorced, unemployed wastrel who invited several hookers and drug dealers to live with her in the tinest of spaces. Drunks on the lawn, trash all over the backyard ... what a nightmare. Most of the later renters were fine, but we had the occasional "stranger than strange." Well, my formerly-soon-to-be-ex-partner (if you're confused, so are we! But we're trying to work things out) is an interesting case in point. He is a bit older than I'd imagine the average Joni fan is, and she didn't come close to providing the soundtrack to his life: other composers did. And at first, he seemed fairly hostile to Joni's work, which was rather intimidating to me, as he is an accomplished musician with a doctorate in musical performance. I could relate to the lister who recently wrote that she was reluctant to share her Joni chestnuts with those not likely to appreciate them, and so made it a point to keep them to herself. But over the years, after much discussion of the goings-on on this list, and after seeing me off to several JMDL gatherings (and actually participating in one), he's at least come to appreciate and support my "Joni jones," if not the music itself. Recently, he made sure to tell me when "Painting with Words and Music" re-aired on PBS, and pointed out a copy of the book of lyrics when we were browsing together at a bookstore. And I think he might really like _Both Sides Now_, the album, if he heard it (I'll have to arrange that! ;-) ). One footnote: he joined me toward the end of the Saskatoon trip, saw the Mendel exhibit, and interestingly, had very positive things to say about Joni's *paintings.* Suffice it to say that he was impressed!! I'm not sure I could ever drag him to a Joni concert, but another Joni art exhibit might be a different story! 'ok computer' has a song called karma police which is a neat song with both guitar and piano and a repeat lyric...this is what you get when you mess with us. ok, so running parallel to this is a list thread hashing this p.j. harvey whom i've never heard but some heavy weights on the list were listing her new one as a favorite for the year so i picked it up today. i get two minutes into in and i think...patti smith. i get five or six songs into it and i think...yes..patti smith only with a sublte techno touch. almost that clear techno of radiohead. then song 7 comes on,,,this mess we're in... and i hear the voice and sure enough, it's the dude from radiohead who repeats on ok computer..this is what you get when you mess with us. so i get the radiohead cd and look for the credits. go ahead and try and make sense of a radiohead cd jacket. doesn't happen. finally in ok computer i find the guys name and it is thom yorke who is credited on the pj harvey cd. i like the pj harvey but it is kind of dark for me. i don't know what her connection is with radiohead but their sound is in her cd ..stories from the... and i could hear that sound in the earlier tracks before i heard the voice of thom yorke singing on track 7. so she must spend a some of time listening to radiohead. it always amazes me when i see how much we influence each other with our music. patrick np. jann arden - could i be your girl ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 08 Jan 2001 19:00:53 From: "c Karma" Subject: Lists, lists everywhere Happy New Year, everyone! Bob NP: Leonard Feather All-Stars, "Feather Bed Lament" ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 Jan 2001 12:37:12 -0800 From: "La Puebla Elementals" Subject: Meditation/Prayer for Joni Greetings to all, I've had an intuitive feeling since yesterday that Joni could use our support at this time...no real logical reason for this. She currently has transiting squares with Pluto, Chiron, Mars, Jupiter & Saturn in her chart...guess this is reason enough. A Vedic astrologer in Taos informed me that Saturn, the planet of structure and limitation, is the predominant force at this time--coupled with the Christmas solar eclipse and tomorrow's (3:26 PM EST) lunar eclipse in Cancer (Eclipses have been known to shake up our world--physically & emotionally). I debated whether or not to include "intuition" or "astrology" so as not to diminish the message. Regardless, this can be an opportunity to give back some loving energy for one who has given us so much. So, those who feel led to....for today, tonight & tomorrow--or ongoing, light a candle, pray, meditate, or play your favorite JM song. For me, just prior to meditating for someone, I focus on what they have meant to me. In Joni's case, she has helped me with the courage to feel my feelings--no matter how overwhelming they appear to be. It has had everything to do with my spiritual growth and truly being alive. Sunday mornings it's my job to get in there early and clean up the mess from the night before, open the bar and get the day going. this, of course, means that i must put the cd player on!! So, before i went to America last summer i got into the habit of playing my own music- specifically Joni. BSN was a great one for the bar, cos it is along the lines of the music we play generally, kind of. All through october and november i played the following cds: BSN, C&S, Eva Cassidy Time After Time, FTR. in that order. in december i added Jewels christmas album. on occasion people would comment. one man was especially impressed. Tom was his name, a regular he recently moved to Sweden with his band. anyway, yesterday i brought only Hits with me. well, i also had KidA but that wouldnt go down well at all with some of my regulars:-) The album had gotten to Circle Game when a gentleman made the comment "oh, the hippies are back in town i see" it's Joni was my answer. about five minutes later he said "do you know Jonis real name?" he was surprised when i knew, lol! "not too many people know that" he went on to tell me that he loves Dylan. and knows some of Mitchells work. he owns olny C&S and HOSL. both of which he loves. he knows LOTC too. he recommended Blue before he realised that i'm quite the fan and already have most of teh albums. then he talked about Dylan for a while. Jody, if you were there perhaps you could have carried on the conversation with him, but me, all i could do was listen. it's only dylans music that i know! although an english teacher once got me to read a newspaper article about dylan turning 50. it wasnt a flattering piece, but quite funny. i'll stop rambling now. this is teh first person i've met in Ireland that knows Joni, and that was the point i set out to make:-) GARRET ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 Jan 2001 13:30:39 -0800 From: "BRIAN SYMES" Subject: RK1a real merry prankster / unlovingjoniwife Well i just skated thru RK1 netsite colors and codas so cool now that "cascadians" are comin out maybe we could meet at a music cafe "Berbatii Pan" ? some Sunny Sunday in the future. Wow! Sort of like Victoria Williams. Totally captivating, to this listener. At six WEEKS old, her parents took her into the Outback to hunt foxes. Now, all grown up, she's been to Africa, written her own songs, won a Country album of the year award in her native Australia for her debut "The Captian", had an article in Stereophile, and a WONDERFUL appearance on "The World Cafe". As David Dye said, it's not like what's popular in Nashville. It's more like roots-oriented stuff like a beautiful, clear, voice set against a very nice acoustic guitar, bass, and drums. Tasteful and understated so that the song comes through. Yum! I haven't heard the CD but on radio- wow, she's great. One of the coolest so far is Richard Isen. I got his CD, just released, called "Let It Fall" through CD Baby. I bought it for the cover of Willy, and was delighted with the whole package! Listen to the piano intro to Joni's "The Last Time I Saw Richard"...that beautiful chordal piano is the sound of this CD, and it's majestically pretty from start to finish...matter of fact, the whole CD almost plays like a suite of sorts as opposed to a collection of "separate" songs. Each track with a couple of exceptions is 5+ minutes, and there are some strings at times, some soft backing vocals at times, and an ethereal melodic beauty throughout. As the keeper of the JMDL database, I was curious to see the spelling of Willy as "Willie", so I asked Richard about it (one of the cool things about CD Baby is that you can e-mail the artists; in this case, Richard actually sent me an e-mail thanking me for picking up the CD!) Anyway, it seems that the song is actually 'registered' or whatever as "Willie"... Anyway, ANOTHER cool thing is that I think that Richard is lurking out here in Joni land. Hopefully my mention of his CD will coax him out of the shadows and encourage him to discuss the experience of making it and the Joni connections... In the meantime, www.cdbaby.com will ship this one to you in a flash! Weighing in with one of my three or four posts I'm planning during 2001 :-) Did you know that there are many opportunities to help with the Joni Mitchell Internet Community websites? For example, here at the JMDL site one can do lots of things: - - Help type articles. I have scores of Joni articles that need to be typed up and converted to digital text. My 8 words per minute typing ability doesn't cut it and I never could get the hang of OCR software. :-) Not only would you be providing reading material for Joni fans across the globe, but you'd get a free copy of the article! Your contribution would be published here: http://www.jmdl.com/articles . Contact me if you are a willing power-typer. - - Track down articles on Joni. Got any old magazines in the attic? Could be a Joni goldmine, you never know. If they don't appear here: http://www.jmdl.com/articles, send me a copy so the rest of the world can read it too. - - Help do research on the Joni Glossary. The glossary project is a little-known extension of the Lyric database at the JMDL site. Check it out. Here's your chance to pick apart your favorite Joni lyric. http://www.jmdl.com/glossary . Follow direction on this page if you want to help. - - Are you an artist? Musician? Then why not take advantage of the free advertising and get your name out there amongst Joni fans with your free page at JMDL? http://www.jmdl.com/artists . Collect your info and send it to me if interested. - - Are you one of those 'High Fidelity' types that hangs out in used record stores? Bob Muller needs you to track down some Joni covers. http://www.jmdl.com/covers . The Bobster is waiting to hear from you. - - Are you a guitarist that has transcribed one (or more) of Joni's songs? Get it published so the rest of us can play it! http://www.jmdl.com/guitar . Sue, Howard, Marian, and Mark are standing by. - - Are you a serious glutton for punishment? Compile one of your favorite past JMDL threads and have it immortalized. http://www.jmdl.com/archives.cfm . I dare anybody to try this, right Lori? :-) - - Are you a computer gadget geek? Help Ken in his never-ending quest for Joni-related screen-savers, wallpaper, midi files, icons, and more. http://www.jmdl.com/shinytoys . Help Ken polish his shiny toys! - - Do you have no talent other than writing checks? Ashara is in the midst of a great fundraiser. Check it out: http://www.jmdl.com/prints.cfm And those are just some of the opportunities to help at JMDL.com. Hey Jim! What can we do to help over at JoniMitchell.com?? Operators are standing by, waiting for your list. It certainly is being played and enjoyed by me Bob. Highlights for me are the two lovely versions of River by Bettie Serveert and Shawn Colvin. Bettie's just shades it over Shawn plus she gets extra points for her seasonal use of sleigh bells. I like Marcel Dadi's BSN instrumental a lot. I love the surprise and the new twists these artists bring to these familiar songs. It's a real thrill to hear Chaka Chan sing Man From Mars. MFM is in my top 5 Joni songs and sure to be a much covered song in time. Lydia Van Dam's cool and jazzy versions of Down To You and All I Want make me want hear a lot more of her. Then there's a stompin Baby I Don't Care by Buddy Holly, surely rock's most influential singer songwriter . Many thanks to you and all the contributors. He may or may not tell me what those test results are. (When my Mom was sick/dying, I got the doctor to tell me what was happening; I won't know anything for sure unless I can get hold of his doctor, whose name of course he will not tell me because he thinks this is all 'private' and doesn't want anyone upset, as if truth is more upsetting than not knowing...) He may or may not outlive me by twenty years, or, since heart failure is THE cause of death in the Lavieris and he has outlived all other male Lavieris, this could be serious. He wants everything out of the house now; that is a sign that it is serious. He is talking about "accelerating everything" whatever that means but it sounds serious. And he may be fine and just once again deciding to be Mr Mysterious. Pray that I can discern what to do. I want to be there - yet I have to work, I am 225 miles away, and he doesn't anyone hovering around him - except at the moment that he wants someone. He has thus far distinctly told me not to come in and his voice sounded good -- but he has been no lie about these things before. Thus far my only comfort is that my aunt - his sister - called me to tell me which hospital he was in, because I have long feared that something would happen to him and I wouldn't know. That has not been an unknown occurance in our family either. After all these years of dysfunctional behavior can we act as a family now? The year before my mom died tells me no, everyone in Chicago will pretend all is fine when it is not. I don't know that we've learned anything since the time lapse between him going into the hospital and my finding out what hospital... so I am all anxious right now. Keep him, and me, in your thoughts and/or prayers or whatever. In our family we don't pray for long life since that can be a curse; we pray that we aren't alone when it happens, that we leave no one alone when it happens. And this is now like a game of chess where I am wearing a blindfold and earmuffs and have to play it all by guess work. So pray that I can discern what is the right thing to do for him, whether this be the last time of his, or just a prelude to many more years. Indeed I am still recovering ;-) Some of you may know that Van has gone a "little bit country" and his latest album features Linda Gail Lewis, the extraordinarily talented sister of Jerry Lee. Some have balked at Van's foray into country but I gotta tell you he pulls it off fantastically like everything else he does. An old friend who is on the Van list takes me to the Van L.A. gigs each year and we met up pre-show with many of that group at the Atlas Bar & Grill next to the Wiltern. In the midst of ordering dinner we discovered Linda Gail a couple feet away at the next table. She was so naturally friendly and engaging - it was terrific. She went around and signed a few autographs and was sincerely interested in meeting certain regulars from the Van list. The show - Van has a new band and they were all decked out in what looked like crimson red sharkskin suits. They warmed up the audience and then Linda Gail came out to do some of her numbers before Van emerged. Van was the straightest ahead I have ever seen him. I'm not at all one of the "inner circle" of the Van list but all of them, who see have seem him live about 1,000 times more than I have, had the same reaction as me. It's like Van has been going to some health spa or something! He was very strong and just brilliant on his duets with Linda. Linda is better than Jerry, hands down, and she even played the piano with both hands and one black leather boot toe simultaneously. Van was almost tooo straight! (I kind of like it when he is his usual eccentric self). He played songs from all over the map - "Days Like This," "Moondance," "Dominoe" and did two memorable encores of "Roll Over Beethoven," "Shake Rattle & Roll" and "Georgia." He did a little impromptu segue during "Georgia" where he sang "tell your Mama, tell your Pa, we're sending Willie back to Arkansas" - heehee. The aftermath - we tried to re-group at the Atlas but they wanted $20 cover to see another group. While waiting in line there, I swear it was Robert Downey, Jr. standing right in front of us with a date. Even they got fed up with the line and all and I think I heard them say they were going off to the Denny's on the corner. So there was the group of Van listers, many from out of state, with no where to go. So one of them suggested my place (how do they sense these things? ;-) so I wrote out directions and they all converged on me and we broke out the leftover New Year's Eve champagne and had a splendid old time. A couple were big Joni fans so I burned them some rarities and told them to check us out over here. The party ended around 4 a.m. Van is heading to Chicago and beyond this week but some of you can check him out tonight on Leno.
