I didn;'t know this. I don't think it changes my views though about how the authorities took the boy. As to whom the boy should be with, or where, I don't know, which is why i didn't say one way or the other. The point is none of us really know the facts so are not in a position to judge. However, I feel if the whole thing was handled with the best interests of the child at the centre of all thought, then a better, less traumatic, way of reuniting the boy with his father would have been found. The boy was not in any immediate danger so I feel they went over the top and did not think about the effect on the boy. Anyway, Joni was married to Larry for 10 years. More than a nanosecond- especially in "show" business! Here's a tip about Joni's lovers. There was a fake post when scientists cloned a goat. The premise was how the world would be different if Joni was cloned. The poster suggested that one Joni could perform while another wrote. You get the idea. They also suggested that if there were 4 Jonis, there would be one each for Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. That's probably about as much as you're going to get from the JMDL community. Besides, I never talk about exgirlfriends........ :) Tina said: Finally what I most want to plumb is the mystery of all Joni's men. i will personally make a donation to the producer of this digest if anyone can give me a "discography" of sorts listing all the men of her intimate life and the songs they go to. I really wish just one of them would share his side of the story! I mean what happened in the marriage to Larry Klein? that bit the dust in a nanosecond! What gives? I've been taking a two month, five day a week, 6 hours a day Chinese course and working on the weekends...as a result I've fallen horribly behind on all of the posts (I'm back at #117 - ughhh!) (Hello Bob, Kakki, CatGirl, Patrick, Wally K, Azeem, Ashara, Catherine and all the other folks too) Can someone, anyone fill me in on these four important items to my Joni world: 1) Is there a video tree, or can I trade for a copy of the TNT special? (Did someone tape the actuall show - please, please, please) 2) Is there a rendezvous for JMDLers at the Washington, DC show? If so I'd love to know about it. 3) Has there been any recent tape trees or offers lately...for any of the new folks...I'd be happy to pass on my list for trades - I have quite a lot thanks to the graciousness of this list. 4) How is it going with the possible recording of the JoniFest in Naw'lins? I loved hearing about the New York show and can't wait to hear Richard Thompson doing more Joni covers after all of these years. Also, I'm ecstatic at the whole diverse lineup of folks and see it as another addition to the concert last July. I really love all that I have experienced from this family (JMDL) and look foreward to putting more time in to it. Is it a coincidence that at about the same time Joni started to make an earnest attempt to seek resolve about the child she gave up....attempt to find/reunite with Kelly/Kilauren, whether it was a public search that had started yet or just a personal determination only Joni and a handful of friends and family knew, that that's when Joni started playing a more active role in becoming a public success? (She's had the critical acclaim, respect of her peers and the very loyal fanbase, but I'm talking about her success to the masses here.) Starting with the release of TI Joni began making TV appearances again, gave far more interviews, did the radio broadcast from the Gene Autry Museum, and started touring again. I guess the question that comes to me is, that after all the issues of her lost child were willing to be confronted, maybe it was also OK in Joni's eyes to become the huge and widely known success she really is? Does anyone follow my drift here? I mean early in her career she was busy trying to make a living, writing and touring to escape and/or purge herself from that devastation, but never succeeding....striving for but resenting her own success all the while? But trauma's like that are generally easier to temporarily deal with (and mask) early on, while years later, 10, 20, 30 years down the road, the emotional burden is just to heavy to carry anymore and the courage (need) to find complete resolve is finally sought. Hence a connection to reuniting with Kilauren and her more public activity in the last few years? To state the same as Mark and others have, I don't like to pry into other's lives either, but I do try to understand what makes people I care for tick. And I'm from the camp that would rather not know all the *whos* of Joni's songs, just because it limits how any particular song could apply to my take on it. But I certainly don't judge anyone who does like to know more specifics of the subjects of Joni's songs. ;-) Don't blast me, OK? I'm just throwing out some food for thought.
