I really like her older work, but these two are really strong, in my opinion. "Do the walls come down" and "Give me all night" and "All I Want Is You" are three of my particular faves on CAA, but then again, I *do* admittedly have a love of all '80's cheesiness, so I can never decide what is actually "critically good" or part of my '80's craze. Also, this was an album that I listened to every night of a hideously hot summer, when I was hopelessly in teenage love/lust, and I would pine away while listening to this album, so it's sentimental to me - -- however, I still think it's a great album to listen to when falling in love! Letters Never Sent is truly awesome... especially "Like a River" which always makes me bawl, and "Touched By the Sun". A while back somebody on the list said they thought 'No Secrets' was Carly's best album. I don't think so! As a matter of fact, although that was the first one I bought & I love 'You're So Vain,' I would rank 'No Secrets' down below a lot of her later output. 'Hello, Big Man', 'Spoiled Girl' (Carly's Dog Eat Dog) or 'Boys in the Trees' are all much better than NS imo. And CAA, LNS & Another Passenger would all be toward the top of the list for me. Mark in Seattle (wrapping this up before somebody accuses me of making this 'the Carly Simon list) BTW: You can certainly tell it's a full moon tonight! ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2000 #104 ***************************** Don't forget about these ongoing projects: Glossary project: Send a blank message to for all the details.
