I forever regret not having lunch with Wally and Leslie in San Francisco two years ago. But what I won't regret and forever remember was the joy and fellowship that has followed since first discovering his creation. It opened a door to creative relationships and friends that would have escaped me otherwise. Sunday: I sent a note to Jody Denberg who did the radio interview of Joni after TTT. I posted his return to the JMDL just recently. Jody was true to his word and played the new version of Both Sides Now. My gift is not writing or expressing how one could truly feel but I wept in my car when this version came on at 9:45. I sat their listening to a older and wiser Joni sing a song from some 25+ years ago. And I could not help but think of where we came from and where we are going. Jody followed by talking about Wally, his creation, his relationship with Joni and dedicated the song in his memory. He plugged the album the new album and ended by saying of Wally. "Sweet bird you are Briefer than a falling star" Thank you Wally, for Les, Neil, Lori, Simon, Sue, Julie, Leslie, MG, and many more. I have met Neil & Lori (where are you?) but so many more I look forward to someday seeing a face that you have been blessed with. Peace to you Wally, thank you for blessing our World Craig ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Feb 2000 18:27:50 +1300 From: "Helen M. Adcock" Subject: BSN - NJC due to my usual ramblings Just a question about the limited edition Both Sides Now. I had this on order from our local Borders store, but they've informed me today, that "this item has been deleted". I had a huge argument with the guy over the phone, trying to convince him that the damn thing hasn't even been released yet, but he kept saying "it's a 'bargain bin' special, and we can't order it in". Yeah right! "A bargain bin special at 97 $%#@ dollars, you dickhead!" I told him that at least 4 times, and he still kept telling me it was a "bargain bin" item. Cretin. So (now I've got that out of my system) I now need to order it from the US, and checked a few sites today, and CDNow and Borders seem to be offering the best deals in terms of discount and prices (including shipping). Can anyone tell me which would be the better company in terms of reliability, etc.? I'm kind of new to the whole Internet shopping thing, since I've just got my credit card back after a HUGE argument with myself ("no, I'll only use it for emergencies", "no you won't, you'll buy crap with it", "joni mitchell is NOT crap", "no, but that book you bought last week is", "shut up, shut up, shut up..." - you get the general idea. Anyway, I seem to be digressing (I'm also trying to put off the housework I should have done yesterday). The simple question is: Is CDNow or Borders (or some other site I haven't heard of yet) the best place to order BSN from? Thanks Hell P.S. Any help on the discount voucher thingies would be appreciated too, since I haven't saved any of the messages that came round recently since I THOUGHT our Borders store could help me...mutter, mutter, damn ignorant shop assistants, mutter, mutter.... _______________________________ "I don't believe in livin' in the middle with available extremes" - Carole King hell@ihug.co.nz ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Feb 2000 00:31:31 EST From: FredNow@aol.com Subject: Re: Interview with Robert Hilburn, LA Times >>Mitchell herself is so pleased with working with the orchestra that >>she is now planning to record an entire album of her own old songs >>this way Yeah!
