There must be something to it that is worth the price. There has to be. Reprise execs or no, I can't imagine Joni standing for foisting a deliberate scam off on her fans. I'm going to order it tonight & I can't wait until it gets here. I guess this marries two of my loves, standards and Joni! An old boyfriend teased me because in the mid 80s all my records were BFVs (Black Female Vocalists). I was 22 and listening to Sarah Vaughn, Ella, Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday, etc. Strange for the time. I felt especially out of it recently at a "trivia night" at a local bar. I didn't know ANY of the bands in the '80s Rock' category! But I did pick Shirley Jones and Robert Preston out of a bad picture of them from "The Music Man!" And anyone has to wonder if I'm a Queen! And although it sounds awful, sometimes I think it would be helpful if humans had the same ability as rabbits: the female (doe) can "absorb" her unborn litter if the environment or circumstances are not right for their birth. A pretty harsh call, I know, but can you imagine the difference in war- or famine-stricken countries? Most people have no idea what it takes to raise a child until they have one. I have been a childcare professional in this life and wouldn't consider being a mother until I have my village.
