I wonder if anyone caught my posts about Peter Erskine and Russell Ferrante? I did not see them anywhere. The digest sometimes plays tricks on me and hides where I can't find her. Sometimes she sneaks out from behind a chip and takes me buy surprise. No, really! If you haven't signed up for the Joni Tribute Fest 2000 in New Orleans I encourage you to do so. We are getting ready to start some heavier planning and I am going to need all the help I can get. We are going to have a wonderful time and I am planning quite a few surprises. So far, about 25 people have signed up that they are coming for sure and we all know Joni Mitchell fans never lie! You better believe there will be a party going on in a town that knows how to party. We can hook you up with Tennessee Wms, John Kennedy Toole, Anne Rice, Truman Capote, Lestat, and others to consult for you as an advisory team. BTW I know that crazy woman in Stansfield, Mass. and whilst she is crazy, I wouldn't say that to loud cause she has a broom and knows how to use it... She looks beautiful (and so does the garden)! Looks like a great book, too - very varied in the choice of subjects. Ciao! Roberto ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Nov 1999 00:49:57 -0600 From: evian Subject: NJC: US Xmas vs. Kiwi Xmas - very, very, very long Helen dearie, I am so behind in Joni digests, and I have basically been skimming them the past week, but tonight I had some free time (not free time really -- just stalling doing other stuff I should be doing, but really don't want to), and plowed through the digests and read all the stuff I missed. I just finished your Christmas post and I am just about peeing myself (well, not literally, of course... I have enough pee troubles with the 4 puppies to further add to my carpet's trauma). OMG, that was soooo good.... and perhaps.... can it be.... that we have the same family??? I especially loved this part: > "Oh God, another > t-shirt with glitter on it - I can't even use them as rags, they scratch the > bath...." > It never fails.... someone always seems to get the hideous glitter and rhinestone shirt in my family every year... Thank God I am a man so I don't have to endure that crappola.... however, I seem to always end up with something totally "not me" and I have to oooh and ahhh and pretend I am enthralled with the window scraper with the light on it, or the frigging tool belt (If you knew me, you would know that the sight of a hammer makes me break out in a cold sweat, and as for telling the difference between the 9 million wonderful screwdrivers I have... well... let's just say that to me a screwdriver is a drink, and if you ask me to screw something, it ain't gonna involve any implements from the tool box). Anyway, just had to say that was a brilliant post, and so much like my Christmas experiences... except mine always take place in the dead of winter.
