If we lived near each other I would be over every day listening with baited breath to your stories!!! And then as well i would let you use one of my guitars.. .but RATZ! I live in PA and I don't know where you live so the possilbility is zero!! YOU just take your time. One of the best things to try is going to a music store where they have guitars and act like you are really interested in buying one. I did that with a Taylor and even retuned it and played with it for like an hour. When tru say..I was thinking of a martin...but thanks!!! We all enjoy what you have to say..it leads to interesting discussions!! >Luv, >Catgirl oh! to be on par with CarGir's kitties! thanks doll-girl! I'm honored! ;-) I hope that in the end I'll be able to contribute something that will make your eyes twinkle... yeah, it's been a looooong time since I pulled the old 'shopping for a guitar' trick... back when I first started playing pro, (at 15) I didn't even own a guitar... always borrowed from the other performers, ending up playing everything from a goya classical to a gibson dove. I used to scour the suburban guitar shops looking for one where they didn't know me yet... ya can't go back to the same place and pull that one too many times! LoL!!! hey, did you ever get your taylor? I remember you were drooling for one... hope so! take care, pat :) Angelfire for your free web-based e-mail. http://www.angelfire.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 02 Nov 1999 23:13:16 PST From: "John Low" Subject: Racial Slurs / Dreamland. The more I think about it the more I’m inclined to the view that this particular line could be Dylan related. The song's exotic characters, imagery and ‘dreamland’ location etc. are very similar to what Dylan was incorporating into some of the songs he was writing around the mid-1970s at the time of the Rolling Thunder Revue. Listen to his album “Desire” – a song, for example, like “Black Diamond Bay”. Given that Joni is on the album's cover in the persona of a black man and that “Great White Wonder” has the obvious Dylan associations I mentioned in an earlier post, is it too far fetched to interpret the line as a nod to His Bobness? That is, two prophets of their turbulent time, Joni and Bob, interpreting the state and future of the world (“burning on the inside / with the knowledge of things to come”)?
