And yes Bob I do roll allso and handle wood, I hardly use a brush. I make cut-outs (like Matisse) and colour them and I make sculptings once in a while. I should call myself "beeldend kunstenaar" (dutch). Too posh for me so it"s schilder (painter). Can't show any right now, got a homepage last week, but it's empty, don't know how it works yet. I made a small painting called "Blue, here is a shell for you". I shall try to show it on my page, when it all works. I will give the group warning!! when it's up. Jan NP: Just like this train on "just Ice". Finally heard it - and she knocks everyone else out of the water on this one. It's probably the top of the list. She brings things out of the song that I've never heard before, just like Marian does. A few of the performances are a little off, like poor Duncan Sheik who I love, but I am impressed how the band was able to carry some of the off moments through. I'm also thinking that a few of our own could have easily performed up there on that stage. But, we've got the Paz Joni Tribute Fest to get ready for and I think there may be some contenders that Mr. Kapillian may want to keep an eye on for future events. ;-) Kakki NP: Joni laughing during Help Me ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Oct 1999 00:02:59 -0600 From: evian Subject: Superficial Observations NJC > Susan McNamara asks, "Who do you immediately buy as soon as the > product hits the streets besides Joni?" > > Well, some of these bands have broken up I think, but ya never know... Stevie Nicks Madonna Cure Cocteau Twins Sheryl Crow New Order Fleetwood Mac U2 Eurythmics James Taylor and, of course, I will line up if Hole ever releases anything else. How about a thread of artists we have given up on, after rushing out to buy their earlier efforts? I gave up on the great Purple One after the Gold Experience, although I did get Emancipation. Also, gave up on Depeche Mode, Echo and the Bunnymen, Cyndi Lauper, REM, and John Mellancamp. Not saying I don't like them anymore, but they just ain't inspiring me to shell out the bucks lately. For some reason, I had to see if Joni was "unforgettable" to the editors. (I'm really not into People Magazine! The only reason I know any of this is that I was at the dentist's office today. :) ) Anyway, Joni has a page to herself, with a pretty cool picture of herself having a smoke. Her clothing is--how can I describe it since I am a clothing imbecile-- unique. And she looks quite beautiful. The text is pretty bland--a two paragraph life story.
