I finally managed to get ahold of them, but they are not working correctly on my machine (or at least the songs that I know how to play). Has anyone else had this problem? I also had something else strange happen in regards to the patches on this page. I downloaded a file called Beatlemania and transferred them to my VG-8. The funny thing is that it only loaded a hand full of Beatle patches and left the rest of my A/B bank untouched. I tried it several times, but the same thing happened. Any thoughts? Help? VH1 Paul McCartney & Friends Live: Peta's Millennium Concert Paul McCartney hosted and gave a rare concert performance at PETA's Party of The Century and Humanitarian Awards, held September 18 in Los Angeles and featuring musical performances by The B-52's, Chrissie Hynde , and Sarah McLachlan. The concert will be telecast exclusively on VH1 on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Co-hosting with McCartney will be Alec Baldwin, Jamie Lee Curtis and Ellen DeGeneres; McCartney's band included Deep Purple's Ian Paice and Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, who also plays on McCartney's soon-to-be-released album of songs that inspired the Beatles, "Run Devil Run. And for the Americans, if you are puzzled, just wait until we >talk about the cricket... Jonah Lomu is amazing, isn't he? How many guys standing 6'6" and weighing 130kg (of pure muscle), can run 100m in under 11 seconds! He has been headhunted by so many sports teams - the Dallas Cowboys were rumoured to be talking multi-millions - you can see why! But I'm quite glad he stuck with rugby, and that he wants to play for NZ, and not his native Tonga! Here are the words of the haka, and it's meaning, which I found through a NZ search engine. I basically knew the story behind it, but this explains it far better than I could! For those who wonder what the hell this is - besides being spectacularly NJC ;o) - the haka is a war dance performed by the All Black's - the NZ rugby team - before every game, to challenge (and intimidate) the opposition. And it works! If you get the opportunity during the Rugby World Cup, check them out, it's quite impressive! Ka mate Ka mate It is death It is death Ka ora Ka ora It is life It is life Ka mate Ka mate It is death It is death Ka ora Ka ora It is life It is life Tenei Te Tangata Puhuruhuru This is the hairy man Nana i tiki mai whakawhiti te ra Who caused the sun to shine again for me Upane Upane Up the ladder Up the ladder Upane Kaupane Up to the top Whiti te ra The sun shines! The haka is a war dance. The words are chanted loudly (shouted) in a menacing way accompanied by arm actions and foot stamping. A haka was traditionally performed before charging into battle. The Maori pronunciation is basically one vowel per syllable, with the vowels having the European rather than English sound. The `wh' is aspirated almost like an `f' (f is good enough for most people). As for what it all means, about 140 years ago, a particularly notorious warlike chief named Te Rauparaha of the Ngati Toa tribe (based just North of present day Wellington), was being chased by his enemies. He hid in a kumara pit (the local sweet potato, only much better) and waited in the dark for his pursuers to find him. He heard sounds above and thought he was done for when the top of the pit was opened up and sunshine flooded in. He was blinded and struggled to see those about to slay him, when his sight cleared and he instead saw the hairy legs of the local chief (reputed to have been exceptionally hirsute) who had hid him. Te Rauparaha is said to have jumped from the pit and performed this haka on the spot, so happy was he to have escaped. Hope that clears it up for you! Incidentally, did you see India's first innings in the test against NZ over there? Dion Nash bowled incredibly well - 6 for not much (had to get in a comment about cricket - 'tis the season, or very nearly)!
