MG, It was not my impression that I was "labeling" anybody. Am I misinterpreting you? I could be. I know you're not "attacking" me per-se, but I thought I'd clarify. I never stated that anybody was "too" anything. As I said with my last post, the uncomforting thing (in a sense) is that I could theoretically be interested in one of my Mother's friends, or one of my Dad's potential dates. This is a thought that while it doesn't "make my skin crawl", is an uncomfortable thought. It is an uncomfortable thought not because the person is "too old", or "too" anything, but rather that it's my parents. Considering that the interpersonal dynamics and relationships between parent and children are often already complex and messy at best, this may not help matters. This doesn't mean that I wouldn't consider pursuing such a relationship should it arise, however. I myself am against the labeling thing- at least the negative labeling, and often times in the supposed positive sense too. For a small example, The Breakfast Club is one of my favorite movies, which even though it's more about stereotypes, has implied focus on labeling, IMO. I'd be happy to continue to elaborate on thoughts on labeling, stereotypes, bias, etc... should you or anyone else care to hear them. Please let me know. I'll be happy to make an effort to clarify to avoid any misconceptions of myself. -Brad Date: Wed, 15 Sep 1999 08:31:29 EDT From: MGVal@aol.com Subject: Re: Old Age Part Two...
