Thanks for the info and the welcome! - -Mary Bob also welcomed me to the list and signed off: > Bob, me not new...me been on list year and a half...have you by > chance seen the new Tarzan? :~D > Initially, I wondered why someone from this list would ask if I'd seen this movie. (No) Did Joni contribute to the soundtrack? 1) The Jungle Line, 2) Lesson in Survival, 3) Taming the Tiger, 4) A Strange Boy? But then I realized it was my silly subject line (me new, too) that prompted it. So thanks for the :-D Bob - -Mary ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Jun 1999 22:44:00 PDT From: Chad Burkhart Subject: Canada Day / Joni's Jazz I just wanted to wish everyone here in Canada a very safe and happy holiday, hope it will be a good one. My girlfriend is coming up from NY and we will be going over to Ottawa, weather permitting (they're calling for rain :( ) Too bad I'm not going to see her or I could join all of you in central park for the big concert. I hope all of you attending have a great time and for those of us not able to be there, we want all the gossip!!! (I'll keep my fingers crossed that JM makes a special appearance). Once again, Bonne Fête Canada!! Yours always, Chadly From Mountains ICQ = 41775889 Go where you will go to Know that I will know you Someday I may know you very well ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Jun 1999 23:49:03 -0700 (PDT) From: Zapuppy@webtv.net (Rick & Penny Gibbons) Subject: Happy Birthday, Gina (NJC) Hi Gang! This list continues to be such a blessing to me! I'm enriched by and thankful for the JMDL community that includes so many gifted musicians, singers, writers, critics and all us fragile human beings in general. I can get something out of all the forms of humor, (even if it only be for my benefit (and protection) to spot who seems to have good judgement and those who seem not to, imho), informed of cultural happenings, touched by musings on Joni's lyrics and can grow through discussions that run the gamut from silly to heated and casual or flip to deeply serious and moving in nature and topic. As with just about everything else in life I tend to think we get out of this, what we choose to put into it, and likewise, what we choose to willingly absorb. But most of all I like absorbing the relationships that are formed here! In fact, two of my very favorite people on the list have been mixing it up a bit of late, (not with each other) with that said, I'd like to extend an on-list "Very Happy Birthday" to one of those people behind the label "lister". A very real and lovely person I'd never had the great pleasure of knowing if it weren't for the JMDL, who's made their way into my heart with her fiery, but sensitive intellect and personality. Stealing from Joni; "let's sing this song together, OK! This song doesn't sound good with one lonely voice, it sounds good with the more voices on it the better. And the more out-of tune voices on it the better. No it was really, it was made for out-of-tune singing, this song." Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Gina, Happy birthday to you! Much love and many hugs to you, my dear friend Gina, on your ??th (I won't tell) birthday! Miles of smiles and happy debating to all, Penny (Pen) PS Hope all of you lucky souls that get to attent Joni's Jazz today, have the times of your life (to date)!!!! ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V4 #288 ************************** The Song and Album Voting Booths are open!
