The HEJIRA songs I'm most familiar with (Blue Motel Room, Song for Sharon, Coyote & Amelia) do not have unprecedented or induplicable structures i.e., they can be fairly easily laid out on paper, and indeed were in commercially-sold songbooks. What is far nearer unique is the phrasing of the vocals, the very free but powerful rhythm she sings AGAINST the solid forms of the songs. (I may have misunderstood what you meant by "structure") LAHM ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V4 #188 ************************** There is now a JMDL tape trading list.
